Decision Day: Sophie's POV
I stood in front of the mirror taking another look at the outfit that I had on, hoping that it was going to be perfect for telling the man of my dreams that I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life. I decided on wearing the black dress that I wore in Italy while we were on our private winery tour, the black Louboutin's that he bought me and the dainty Cartier watch on my wrist. I wore my hair long and cascading down my back filled with big bouncy curls just the way he liked it. My makeup was natural, I was never too big into makeup and he always loved me when I was looking the most natural as possible. I grabbed my bottle of Tori Burch perfume spraying the perfect amount on my wrists and a small amount on my dress before heading out towards the Escalade that was waiting to take me to the hotel.
My decision didn't come easy last night, my thoughts were constantly swaying from saying yes to saying no. I made countless lists of the pros and cons of being with Austin and each list I made the good always out weighed the bad even with the small mishap with Brooke at the party just a few days after coming home from Italy. The way he changed after that and took care of me and brought me back from the dark place that I was spiraling towards said so much to me. I knew then that he was the guy for me and that we would have the most amazing life together.
I grabbed my black leather purse off of the chair turning around briefly to see my parents standing with their arms wrapped around each other looking at me with wide smiles on their faces. I knew despite how they looked at me and how happy they seemed they were still very apprehensive about the whole marriage. My Mom broke free from my Dad's embrace as she walked over towards me wrapping me tightly in a hug as I felt her shoulders start to shake.
"Mom" I said with a laugh as I wrapped my arms around her neck. "Please don't cry" I smiled as she pulled away from me. "It's not like I'm going to be far away" I said rolling my eyes.
"No but Lauren told us everything that had happened and are you sure that this is what you want to do?" she said, holding me at arms length as she gave me a sympathetic look.
"Yes Mom I'm sure this is what I want to do. I love him so much and after how he took care of me when I was in my dark place I know that he is the only guy for me" I said wrapping her in a hug again.
"Just know if anything goes wrong you are always welcome back here" she said moving over as my Father walked over to me slowly with his hands in his pockets.
"I'm happy for you kiddo I am, but you know my stance on him. I had said in the beginning what if he leads you down the path of drugs and alcohol and sure enough you went down that path again" he said with an I told you this was a bad idea look.
"Yeah but he wasn't the reason why" I said rolling my eyes with a laugh as I reworded my statement. "I mean he didn't force me to drink. He actually helped me when I started and was there while I was getting myself back on track and always kept an eye on me never letting me have more than a glass or two of wine" I said giving him a pleading look for him to just be understanding. "He's a good guy Dad I promise. Please just trust my judgment" I said waiting patiently to see if he would finally give in, his small head nod giving me the acceptance I needed.
I ran up to him wrapping my arms around him giving him a huge hug before pulling away from him with a small smile. "Thank you Daddy, thanks for trusting me" I said, my phone vibrating in my purse as I picked it up to see a text from the driver letting me know that we needed to leave in five minutes.
I said my final farewells giving a tiny wave as I made my way out of the front of my parents house towards the Escalade waiting by the sidewalk. I was just about to climb into the back of the car when I heard someone calling my name. I looked down the sidewalk to see a young girl walking towards me, she looked about my age but I felt like we've never met before since she didn't look familiar to me in the slightest. I took a step back waiting for her to come closer to me, curious as to who she was and what was so important that she had to tell me.
