Austin's POV

I woke up earlier than normal looking around my bedroom. I grabbed my phone and hit the home button quickly to check the time. 6:30 . I listened closely as I heard music still drifting from outside.

Fuck they couldn't still be partying out there, not possible.

I got up and opened my bedroom door, despite the fact that I had plenty of extra rooms in the house, there were several bodies passed out everywhere. My house looked typical as it would after any party that I had on the weekends, empty Bud Light cans and vodka bottles littering the counter tops, cups thrown on the floor around the pong table, late night food delivered from PostMates laying half eaten around the house. I chuckled to myself as I walked out to the patio and switched off the speaker that was still connected to someones phone somewhere inside the house.

It looked like they all had a great time and you would think that I would be upset about that but it didn't bother me in the slightest. I just haven't been feeling these parties lately, it felt like I was just offering up my house because it was tucked away and it was just me, the only time I enjoyed them anymore was when I was shitfaced, but even then I didn't remember them so I'm just assuming. I walked back up to my room and grabbed my cellphone off the charger and headed out to the patio off my bedroom.

I sat myself down in a chair and stared at the sun just starting to crest over the mountains. I lit a cigarette taking a deep drag holding the smoke in my lungs before exhaling, a small smile spreading across my face. I was hoping that I could share many sunrises with my wife, it was the one thing I looked forward to when I would get up early in the morning, and it was something I was looking forward to sharing with her.

After sitting alone for a several minutes, I picked up my phone and sent a text out to my Dad. He and I were really close, and I couldn't think of anyone but him to talk to right now. I didn't want to wake up my friends, who didn't seem to be very supportive of the decision that I made.

hey dad sorry ik its early, but do u want to grab breakfast?

I lit another cigarette and walked back into my house getting dressed to leave. He hadn't answered me yet, but I knew he would meet me at the Blue Plate Diner. I threw on a pair of light washed jeans a few holes here and there, a maroon carharrt t-shirt and a hat before heading out of my room. I walked through my house and into my garage and pulled the keys off the hook for my Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6.

I started the truck and opened the garage door pulling my phone out of my pocket as I felt it vibrate. I lifted it up and laughed at the very to the point text from my Dad.

Blue Plate?

yes sir, on my way

I hit the send button and backed out of the garage, closing the door behind me as I made my way down my long driveway. A smile spread across my lips. I wondered if the girl who I was going to be calling my wife in a few short hours would be okay if we went out in my truck. No one else wanted to, they always said it wasn't for them. That should've been a hint right there that I wasn't for them, but I always have this fear that I'll always be alone, never being truly good enough for anyone... celebrity or not so I always stayed with them even though I knew they weren't in it for me, they were in it for the clout.

I pulled into the parking lot and waited for my Dad to get there. When I finally saw him pull up I got out of the truck and walked over to him, walking into the diner together. We both ordered coffee's and a short stack of pancakes from the kind waitress.

"So are you ready for today?" he asked taking a sip of his coffee, sitting back in the booth.

"Yeah, actually I am" I said a small smile spreading across my face.
