Sophie's POV
The excitement was boiling over me as I sat in the back room packing my overnight bag for the trip that Austin was planning for us. I felt like we needed this more than anything, to take a step away from everything that was happening between us and almost use it as a way to bring us back to square one, remind us both of why we fell in love with each other in the first place. Since we left for tour things have been going great between us, sure there was still the ridiculous bullshit that Chris was trying to pull any chance that he got, but despite that things between us—where it mattered the most—were going better than I could've hoped for.
The both of us decided to pass on several hours of the green room so that we could get our bags ready to go after the tour. I had a feeling that this wasn't going to sit well with Dre, the entire time I was trying to figure out what to pack, I kept anticipating his heavy rap against the bus door only to be followed by what had started to become his annoying English accent floating through the empty space of the bus like a swarm of parasites making an attack.
"Soph you know we are only going overnight right?" Austin said with a laugh as he leaned himself up against the doorway to our bedroom, his arms crossed across his chest and his eyebrows raised as he took in the many piles of clothes that I had laid out before me. I was always a heavy packer, always fearing that I was never going to have exactly what I needed and always wanted to be ready for an impromptu change of plans.
"Yeah I know" I said with a laugh, standing up as I walked over towards him. He pushed himself off the wall and opened his arms almost by instinct as I wrapped my own around his girthy torso, resting my head softly against his chest as I let my eyes flutter closed to the sound of his heartbeat.
He held me like this for several minutes, our steady breathing mixing with the soft pumping of our heartbeats filling the room as I felt a steady stream of soft kisses being pressed into the top of my head. I don't know what changed about him, but I was loving every second of it. I had told him one thing about me was I always believed that actions spoke louder than words and he was sure making an appoint to show that too me.
"So should I go and buy you another bag or..." he said as I pulled away from his embrace and glared up at him, my eyes two narrow slits as I tried to give him my best angry stare.
"Or, you could just help by filling me in on what I need" I said, my angry standoff with him subsiding as I couldn't help but smile at his sweet face as he looked down at me with a jovial expression.
"Okay uhm" he said walking over towards the pile on the bed. I watched with amusement as he picked out two of my sexiest lingerie items, my dark navy cocktail dress, a pair of silver heels, a pair of jeans and a hot pink scoop neck tee.
I looked at the items with a raised brow, Austin smirking as he walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, a sweet small kiss pressed gently against my neck before he rested his chin on my shoulder.
"There I think that should do just fine" he said causing me to break out into a small fit of giggles as I turned my head to look at him, placing a quick kiss on his perfect pink lips before looking back at his outfit choice.
"So I have stuff to keep you entertained, a dress for what will clearly be a night out and one pair of jeans and a shirt to cover me for during the day and our return to St. Louis. I feel like we are missing an outfit here" I laughed as he pressed another sweet kiss against my neck.
"No baby girl, I think you're missing the fact that we aren't leaving the hotel once we get there tonight until dinner. So you have plenty of clothes" he said, my head turning to look at him as I crashed our lips together, my right hand coming up to cup the side of his face as I quickly spun around in his arms.
