Austin's POV
The gondolier brought us back to the river bank by Doge's Palace as we both got off. I graciously tipped him as I grabbed Sophie's hand and walked with her back towards our hotel. There was no denying my feelings anymore, not that I did in the first place. I was falling madly in love with her and nothing was going to stop me.

She had opened up to me today and for me that was an important part of this relationship, it proved that she trusted me and that she was comfortable in confiding in me. She could've stopped at any moment, but she didn't and that meant the world to me.

We walked quickly through the crowded streets of Venice as I was eager to get her back to the hotel room. My night of surprises wasn't over for her quite yet. I had asked the hotel to ready the room with candles and soft music, a small fire to be burning in the fireplace outside on the balcony. I knew how much she liked it the first time and thought it would be a great way to end the night. I wasn't looking for sex tonight, after this morning I didn't even need it, but if it happened it happened. I really just wanted to cuddle with her and talk, see if she would open up to me more. I wanted to know everything about her.

"Austin" she started as she was taking in her surroundings.

"Yeah baby?" I asked, giving her my full attention.

"Thank you so much for tonight. It was absolutely perfect" she said flashing me that breathtaking white smile.

"Anything for you Sophie" I said leaning down and giving her a quick kiss on the lips.

"And thank you for listening. Telling you everything that happened to me was like telling my best friend. I've never felt so comfortable talking to anyone besides my parents" she said looking up at me as we approached the ferry that was already waiting to head back with a few other hotel guests already on board.

"It meant a lot that you opened up to me today Sophie. It means that you are comfortable with me and that you feel like you can trust me" I said wrapping my arms around her and pulling her into my chest as we stood on the bow of the ferry watching the Venice lights fade just slightly from our view.

"I feel completely comfortable with you Austin, and I trust you with my life" she said as she placed a kiss on my chest.

"The same goes for me baby girl. I already know that you are going to be my rock, my everything. You are going to be my lighthouse if I ever lose my way" I said.

"That was so corny it was cute" she giggled adorably as we got off the ferry.

"Hey I'm losing material here. There are only so many cute things that can be said in one night before you have to start bringing out the corny shit" I laughed as we walked into the hotel lobby heading towards our room.

"Well we better not use all the good stuff on this trip. I don't know if I can deal with your corny shit for the rest of my life" she laughed rolling her eyes at me.

"Somehow I think you'll manage Sophie" I smiled as we stepped into the elevator.

I pulled her in close to me, our arms wrapping around each other, as I placed small kisses in her hair and rubbed her back slowly as we quietly remained in each other's embrace until we reached our floor. We walked down the long hallway hand in hand as I pulled the room keys out of my pocket and pushed open the door.

I have to admit, my breath caught in my throat at the sight of the room, it was much better than our first night. Every table was covered in candles, soft piano music was playing quietly from somewhere within the living area of the suite. On top of the coffee table was a box of the finest Italian chocolate with a perfect wine to match, a card addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Post sitting on top of the box.
