Nini set her alarm significantly early so that she'd have time to go for a morning jog before school. She was definitely regretting that decision now since she stayed up pretty late watching the stars with Ricky.

As she got up she threw on some workout gear and threw her hair in a high ponytail. She popped her headphones in before beginning her morning jog.

This was something she started to do over the summer when she was working to better herself. Not only was it good for her body but it was also good for her mind.

She was able to take in the beauty of the area in the morning and release all the anxieties from the days before.

Right now she definitely needed this jog because getting over Ricky was so much harder than she expected it to be, but she couldn't lose Gina.

She couldn't betray her best friend.

Nini listened to the music that played softly in her headphones hoping that she could simply clear her mind. She could stop thinking about everything and everyone and just enjoy her jog.

As Nini ran she felt herself bump into something.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry. I should've been paying attention"

"It's fine" the girl laughed slightly "just help me up and we'll call it even" the girl said holding her hand out for Nini to help her up

"Oh of course" Nini said helping her up

"I'm Kourtney" she smiled waiting for Nini to introduce herself

"I'm Nini."

"You look really familiar Nini. Aren't you in my music class at east high?"

"Yes! Oh my god Kourtney! I remember you. You have an Amazing voice. I remember you performed 'I will always love you' by Whitney Houston for the class"

"Oh that was nothing" Kourtney chuckled "but you? You sang cruel summer by Taylor swift right?" She asked and Nini nodded shyly "your voice literally gave me chills"

"Aww thank you" Nini smiled "I really do love to sing but I don't think I'll ever go far with it" Nini responded shyly

"I disagree. I love your voice and I'm almost positive that if you keep going, you'll make it somewhere."

"Now where have you been my entire life?" Nini joked and her and Kourtney both laughed

"So what brings you out here this early?"

"I usually jog in the morning to clear my head, especially when there's a lot going on. How about you?"

"Same here. I've been trying to jog every morning, it's nice to take in the fresh morning air" Kourtney said and Nini nodded in agreement

"Well it's almost time for me to start getting ready but I'll see you at school?" Nini asked and Kourtney nodded before Nini began her jog back to Gina's house.

Once she got there she opened the door with the spare key that they kept under the mat, and went into Gina's room grabbing her water bottle and taking a sip of it.

"Nini? I thought you went back home" Gina said as she laid out her outfit

"Nope, I just went for a jog. I wanted to clear my head a little bit" Nini said and Gina nodded continuing to get her outfit together

"Ricky is in the shower right now, but he should be out any second. You can get in after him" Gina said and Nini got her things together to get in the shower since Ricky would be done soon "oh and ej is coming over after school, you can come if you want but—"

"I think I'll stay home and do some studying" Nini said and Gina laughed knowing how much Nini hated third wheeling with her and Ej "plus I know you and ej need some...alone time" Nini said heading out the door.

As she stepped out she was met with Ricky who had just gotten out of the shower. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and water was still dripping down his upper half.

Nini's eyes darted to his chest, it was obvious that he'd been working out and her eyes were just naturally drawn to it.

"Eyes are up here Nini" Ricky chuckled

"W-what? I uh I wasn't even looking at you" Nini stuttered moving her eyes from his chest up to his big brown eyes

"Mmhhmm yeah, is that why you're stuttering" he fired back with a smile

"Don't flatter yourself Bowen, I'm just tired cause I just came from a um run"

"Yeah I can tell, you always look good after your runs" he smirked lightly earning a short lived smile from Nini

"What?"

"I said I can tell, you should probably get some food after you run. You know, cause you obviously need something in your system" he winked as he walked off

"That boy is going to kill me" Nini said before walking in the bathroom to get ready.

After Nini finished in the shower she went back to Gina's room where Gina was already fully dressed

"Hey Nini" Gina said catching her attention "I woke up this morning around 2:15 and you weren't here, is everything okay?" Gina asked

"Uh yeah, just wanted a little fresh air" Nini said trying to avoid eye contact as much as possible

"Oh, okay. My mom made breakfast so meet me downstairs when you're done?" Gina asked and Nini nodded as she continued to get her clothes out.

Gina headed down the stairs and Nini sat on her bed letting out a sigh of relief. In attempts to get Ricky off of her mind she took her phone out and started texting Andrew. Hopefully he could be some sort of help to get over Ricky Bowen.

After all Ricky Bowen is a player,and this crush she had on him was doing her more harm than good.

As she was about to click send she remembered that he usually works the morning shift so he probably wouldn't text back until later.

I'll just text him later she thought before focusing her attention back to her clothes.
