A week later

"Do you think I'd look good with blonde hair?" Nini asked as she laid on Gina's bed scrolling through her phone

"I think you should stick with brunette" Gina laughed

"I'm not gonna actually get blonde hair, I was just wondering if I'd actually look good with it" Nini said and Gina looked at Nini for a second trying to decide if blonde hair would actually suit her best friend

"If we're being honest, I can't see you in anything but brunette hair" Gina laughed "so, how are things with Jeremy?"

"He uh, he hasn't talked to me since our date" Nini said sadly. Since Ricky fought Jeremy on their date Jeremy told Nini that he thought it was best to not see each other anymore.

While Nini was kind of disappointed she completely understood why he wouldn't want to be involved with her. She completely understood why no one would want to be involved with her.

"What!?" Gina exclaimed "that little—"

"Gina it's fine, the date didn't go that well anyways"

"But I thought you said you had fun"

"I did, Jeremy is honestly really fun to be around but just as friends. I don't see us going anywhere romantically though" Nini said and Gina nodded in understanding

"What about Starbucks guy?"

"We've been talking but he hasn't really made any moves. I mean we're supposed to hang out tomorrow night but that's just what it is. A hangout. He hasn't asked me on a date or anything. He probably just wants to be friends"

"Well, you never know. Everything tomorrow might go really well"

"Or it'll be a mess and love will be dead forever" Nini said

"Nini I-" Gina said not knowing exactly how to respond to that

"Kidding, I'm just kidding Gi" Nini laughed

"Why do you and Ricky always do that?" Gina laughed and Nini's smile slightly fell at the mention of Ricky.

She had managed to stay away from Ricky for the week. She saw him here and there when at Gina's house but she tried to keep her mind off of him.

Ricky decided to respect Nini's wishes and stay away from her. She never said it directly but he could tell that he really messed up and it was best for him to give her some space.

"I uh I don't know" Nini laughed nervously, hoping to change the conversation from Ricky "you ready to go?"

After Gina and Nini went out last week they realized that it was something that they needed to do a lot more. They needed to have at least one day out the week where they just went out to have fun, and that one day was Saturday

"Uh yeah, I'm just gonna check up on Ricky really fast then I'll be ready to go" Gina said as she gathered her things together

"Check up on him?" Nini asked curiously. She didn't know why exactly Gina would have to check up on him. She was still pretty upset with the boy but she wanted to make sure he's okay.

"Yeah, I don't know what happened last week but he hasn't been himself in a while" Gina said sadly

"What do you mean by hasn't been himself?"

"Well last week after I finished helping you get ready for your date with Jeremy I came back home and saw him with yet another girl. I told him how disgusting he was for constantly having girls in and out the house without a second thought. I'm not sure if that's why he hasn't been himself but after I said that he went out. Not sure where, but when he came back the next morning he was just different"

"Like how?"

"Like the way he carried himself was just different. And I haven't seen him flirt or make out with anyone since. He hasn't had any girls over either. It's super weird. He just stays in his room all day. I tried to apologize to him for everything I said but he said this has nothing to do with what I said so I don't know what it could be" Gina said and Nini instantly knew what was going on with Ricky. She started to feel bad knowing that she was the cause for it but at the same time he caused her a lot of hurt. She wasn't just going to give in that easily.

"Awwnn poor Ricky" Nini pouted

"Yeah. I know I've been wanting him to stop having girls in and out the house but now that I got it, i don't know im just worried about him. If I didn't know any better I'd think he was heartbroken" Gina said, and Nini didn't exactly know how to feel at the moment.

Of course she felt bad hearing the way Ricky has been acting for the past few days. It wasn't her intention to hurt him like this, and even though he hurt her he didn't deserve this.

But at the same time she was conflicted because what he did wasn't just something that she could forget. Each time she saw him with another girl it was like a slap in the face. Even though they weren't together, it was still hard for her to see.

It wasn't fair to her that she went through that every single day while he had the satisfaction of not seeing her with anyone because he threatened everyone who could possibly be interested in her.

"I hope he feels better" Nini said truthfully "maybe he's just going through a lot right now Gi"

"Yeah, I just don't know what. What happened between Friday night and Saturday morning that caused such a shift in him?" Gina asked with a sigh. She truly loves her brother and the way he was acting was really starting to worry her.

"Even though he said it wasn't what you said, maybe he realized that the life he was living with all those girls isn't what he wants, maybe he's just trying to change. And change is never easy"

"Yeah you're probably right. I still wanna check on him though to make sure he's okay"

"Alright, I'm gonna go start the car" Nini said before heading out
