"So, what'd you want to talk about?" Nini asked as she plopped onto Gina's bed. After she left the doctor, she went to go get her antibiotics, and after taking one she felt a lot better.

Gina's nervousness seemed to have come back. She was pacing back and forth in her room,and Nini was starting to get worried.

"Gina, what's going on? You're making me nervous" Nini told the girl. Part of her wondered if she knew about her relationship with Ricky, but she dismissed the idea deciding that Gina had no way of knowing, they were always super careful.

"Do you still want to be my best friend?" Gina blurted out looking at Nini in worry. She'd planned on asking Nini in a more delicate way but her nerves got the best of her

"Of course I still want to be best friends Gi. Why wouldn't I?" Nini said and Gina took a breath of relief knowing that her fears weren't reality.

She plopped down on her bed "it's just that you've been super distant lately and you've been blowing me off constantly. You used to come over everyday after school and now I barely see you anymore. I thought I was the problem." Gina admitted and Nini felt he'd heart drop slightly not even realizing that she was putting her best friend on the back burner.

"I'm so sorry Gi. I didn't even realize that I was doing that, I've just been caught up in my own stuff" Nini sighed

"You used to come to me with that stuff. We told each other everything and now, I don't know what's going on" Gina said and Nini was hit with guilt again.

She couldn't possibly tell Gina about the pregnancy scare because Gina didn't know about her and Ricky. Everything was becoming so complicated so fast.

She wanted to tell Gina about her and Ricky but there was no way she'd take the news smoothly and Nini just wasn't ready to lose her best friend.

"I know Gi and I'm so sorry. I went to the doctor today to figure out what's been going on with me so everything should return to normal really soon" Nini told the girl with a small, warm smile

"What did the doctor say?"

"I have the stomach flu and I'm over working myself in school. She said that I need to relax and stop overworking myself."

"I agree" Gina giggled slightly before wrapping her arms around Nini which Nini gladly accepted. 

"Now if you ever feel like this ever again, I need you to come to me about it immediately, okay?" Nini asked and Gina nodded

"I'm glad you're back. I think Ricky's returning to his old ways and I can't deal with this alone" Gina huffed and Nini's heart dropped for the third time today.

"W-what do you mean by that" Nini stuttered out dreading the words that were about to come from her best friend's mouth

"I've seen him bringing girls in and out this house lately. It's not as many as it used to be, but there are too many to count" Gina said and Nini felt her heart shatter.

How could Ricky do this to her? So the time that Ricky wasn't at her house he was entertaining girls at his own?

He used the fact that Nini was vulnerable to his advantage.

"I'm glad I don't have to worry about you being one of those girls Ni. I don't know what I'd do if you were"

"Yeah. Me too" Nini said sadly trying her best not to let the tears that threatened to fall, fall.

She couldn't let them fall in front of Gina because it would give away too much, but she didn't know how to control her emotions.

She felt a pain in her chest that she didn't even know she was capable of feeling and she didn't know how to handle it.

"I'll be back I have to use the bathroom" Nini said before rushing out the room and into the bathroom not even awaiting Gina's response to the statement.

Nini shut the bathroom door, and slid down it letting the tears go. She let out a silent whimper blaming herself for this heartache she was having.

She listened to and believed everything Ricky was saying and all he did was lie. He seemed so sweet, so caring but all of it was fake. Every conversation, text message. Every kiss.

She gave him her all, her everything and this was how he decided to repay her.

After a few minutes Nini stood up, and flushed the toilet then washed her hands to make it seem like she actually used the bathroom.

She took a look at herself in the mirror before wiping her eyes and making sure she looked presentable enough to go back into Gina's room.

As Nini walked out the bathroom she ran into Ricky. Tears threatened to escape her eyes once again but she refused to let them.

"Hey how did the doctors appointment go?" Ricky asked concern evident in his voice.

Nini simply scoffed before turning on her heels and ignoring the boy walking back into Gina's room.

Ricky stood there with a confused expression on his face wondering what was up with her. He remembered that she had gotten her period that morning and blamed it on hormones.

"I'm gonna go pop some popcorn and grab us some drinks. I was thinking we'd have a high school music marathon tonight" Gina told the girl and Nini offered her a fake smile

"That sounds perfect" Nini said as Gina headed out to the kitchen.

Nini sighed as she fell back into Gina's bed thinking of the events that led her to this point in time. Her heart feeling like it's been smashed into pieces but she can't express it the way she'd like because her relationship was never supposed to happen in the first place.

"Why did this have to happen to me?" Nini whispered sadly as she waited for her best friend to come back with drinks and popcorn
