About another forty-five minutes later, Cassie was able to hold some fluids down. Her eyes looked a lot better but she could talk a little. She handed Tim the key to her office and showed him another key that unlocked a cabinet in the wall that would show the video footage. He and Chance said that they would go check it out. The two men should be off the clock by now and at home. Adam had told them about the incident before coming upstairs. Then he became concerned that maybe the eclairs might have been tampered with since that man was near the kitchen. Tim said that he would check all the footage that showed those two men. Cassie would then be able to have proof for any legal action she might want to take. When Cassie finally stopped vomiting she was able to drink a little more. She was still feeling a little shaky and disoriented, though. He called Dr. Quinn to ask some questions. She said that was normal for the drug that she had been given. It was ok to let her sleep as long as she wasn't vomiting. Otherwise she could end up choking on her own vomit and die from it. That scared the hell out of Cassie. She definitely wasn't going to sleep on her back tonight. Adam had her lay on the couch with her head in his lap. Megan grabbed a throw blanket for her because she was getting chills and still sweating, but not as bad. She kissed her mom's forehead and told her goodnight. She had Adam put her number in his phone so that he could call her if anything else happened during the night. He really liked the way she cared for her mom. Cassie did a great job raising her daughter. Adam wanted to wait for Tim  and Chance to get back from viewing the video footage. He knew that it might take awhile. Cassie wanted some more juice so he helped hold the glass up to her lips. Then she laid her head back down. Oleana got the rag wet again in case she needed it. Then she and Austin went back to their suite, telling him to call if they needed anything. Adam had told them that Rob was going to be flying out this week. They were glad to hear that. Adam sat talking with Sami and Jenika as they waited for Chance and Tim. Adam was stroking Cassie's hair as she slept. Sami and Jenika shared a look. He was definitely in love. You could see it in his actions. They were positive that she felt the same way about him but was afraid of her feelings. The would need to have another girl talk. The main obstacle was Stephen. And according to Cassie, she was going to be filing for a divorce after talking with her lawyer friend. After a couple of hours Tim and Chance came back. The footage did show someone slipping something into her drink. It wasn't who they thought it was. It was Stephen himself. He had slipped into the hotel unnoticed and saw her coffee sitting there. He looked around, put the drug in and slipped out again. This news shocked Adam. The man had balls, he'd give him that. He was going to talk to Cassie about hiring some security after this. Tim thought that was a good idea. He was also impressed with how quick Adam reacted when she first started feeling funny. He kept his head on straight and did what he had to do. The other four left for the night, also telling him to call if they needed anything. Tim left her keys on the table and said that he would lock the door before shutting it. Adam needed to get her to bed.

"Cassie, love, lets go to bed." He carefully moved her head so that he could get up. He then gently picked her up and laid her down on the bed. He went back and grabbed the juice and some soda with the ice bucket in case she got thirsty. He also placed the waste basket on the other side of the bed as a precaution and turned everything off. He carefully stripped her clothes off and put a nightie on her to keep her warm. He could hear the wind and the rain outside. The waves were also pounding against the shore. He turned on the tv and had the volume on low so that it wouldn't disturb her. He was tired, too, but his brain was in overdrive. It pissed him off that Stephen had snuck back in and tried to poison her. He could've lost her tonight if he hadn't reacted so quickly. He watched her sleep for a little bit. She woke up again briefly and needed to use the bathroom. Her legs felt like rubber so he helped walk her to the bathroom, waited outside the door until she was done and carried her back. She drank some more juice before laying back down. She turned onto her side and snuggled into him. She then mumbled "I love you, Adam" before drifting off again. He just laid  there hearing those four little words over and over. He kissed the top of her head and although she couldn't hear him, as he moved some hair away from her face, he whispered, "I love you, too, sweet Cassie." He decided to stop fighting what he was feeling. She somehow got under his skin, making him want to protect her and never let her go. Maybe she would go with them on tour. If she couldn't come out, he would be back for every break. He wanted to take a Chance with this woman, who had never been shown love before. Who was willing to learn what pleases him, also. He smiled at the memory of the first time she did that to him. She was getting better. She had told him that practice makes perfect. His smile got bigger thinking back to that conversation. Then he thought about her in her pirate costume. He had secretly took some photos of her with his phone. Those snug pants with the stiletto heeled boots. He wanted to fuck her right there on the spot when he first saw her dressed up like that. Ok, he needed to think about something else before he had a problem. Damn, too late. He didn't want to disturb her because she needed to get the drug out of her system, so he was forced to go with the alternative. He took his phone out and looked at the picture of her in the sexy pirate costume and put his hand on his cock. He worked himself as he closed his eyes and thought about how her lips felt on his skin, when she had her first orgasm. The look she had on her face when he was pleasuring her. He felt the energy start to build when he felt a hand join his. She had woken up again and was watching him. She was still not feeling well enough to do much but she wanted to at least do this for him. He looked at her tired face as she jacked him off with a soft smile. Her hand moved faster while he held onto the base. He soon gave into the pleasure of shooting himself over her hand. He grabbed the wet cloth and cleaned up her hand. He laid back down and was finally able to go to sleep, holding her protectively next to him.

When Cassie woke up, it was still very early. She was alone in bed and wondered where Adam was. She heard some voices coming from the living room so she decided to get up. When she tried to stand, her legs still felt like jello and the room pitched so she fell. Hearing a thump come from the bedroom, Adam ran in and found her on the floor.

"I'm sorry, I heard voices and I was going to get up. I didn't mean to fall."

"Cassie, it's ok. You don't need to apologize. You were poisoned, so you aren't going to be feeling that good. I was just talking to the doctor. She is here right now. I'll bring her in here after I get you back into bed." He put her back on the bed and brought the doctor in.

         "How are you feeling, Cassie's?"

"Very dizzy when I try to stand and my legs felt like jello. My head is starting to hurt a little."

"Well, the dizziness should go away by tomorrow. I have something for the headache that won't hurt your stomach. Your legs feel like that because of the drug you were given. Psych meds affect people differently, and when mixed with something, like coffee, the reaction can vary, depending on the person. You are allergic to something in that drug and the coffee made it enter your body a lot faster that it would have in pill form. You can't have coffee for a couple of days until the drug is completely out of your system. I want you to eat foods that are light on your stomach until the drug wears off. Usually after two or three days for the drug that you were given. I was giving  Adam the instructions when you got up. Do not, and I repeat, do not try to get up unless someone else is in the room. You will most likely sleep a lot. Some times psych meds are prescribed as sleeping pills for someone who has a hard time shutting their mind off at night. So if you feel overly tired, it's a side effect from the drug and normal. Ok?" Cassie nodded. "Ok. I'll check back with you in a couple of days. Try to go back to sleep." Adam saw the doctor out before locking the door again and climbing back into bed.

"I'm sorry for being so much trouble, Adam. You guys were probably looking forward to a nice quiet vacation and now you are stuck right in the middle of my troubles." She felt so bad about the situation that she wanted to cry. Adam lifted her chin to look into her eyes.

"Cassie, this isn't your fault. You are no trouble at all. As for looking forward to a quiet vacation, I got something better, and worth more to me. I got you." He tapped the tip of her nose before whispering to her lips. "I love you, Cassie." She threw her arms around him, crying.

        "I love you, Adam Rupp."

        "Why are you crying, then?"

"Because I was afraid to tell you. I didn't think that you could love me back. I didn't think that I was worthy of someone loving me."

"You deserve to be loved. You have put up with so much bullshit and are tried to make a life for you and your daughter all by yourself. You have done a great job raising a very caring young woman. I think she had her boyfriend sleep over last night. There is a storm going on and she wouldn't let him drive out in it. She kinda forced him to stay. We will make this work, Cassie. You can come with me out on the road when you want to and I can come here during every break we get. That's how Rob does it with Kelsey. Same with Sami when she doesn't travel with us." Cassie just held onto him tighter, knowing that she wasn't going to be losing him after winter was over. She was more determined than ever to get Stephen out of her life. She now had something positive to live for. She had the sweetest man in the world right here. He didn't have to take care of her like he was right now, but he did. She held onto him  as she fell back to sleep with a smile on her face. Adam drifted off back to sleep, feeling like a weight had been lifted. Having declared their feelings for each other put him in a peaceful mood. He fell back asleep holding onto her just as tight. She was his woman.
