Next day....

"Get her on two IV drips, one hour between each and on O²"

"Yes doctor"

He made his way outside and sighed leaning against the door.

"You look tired"

He looked up and it was Nithya. He smiled.

"I am. Want to grab some coffee?"

She smiled and grabbed his hand.

"Sure, i have so much to tell you"

They make their way into the cafeteria. Nithya ordered their beverages while Aiden sat at the table.

"So yesterday I had this patient that puked all over me right? He was like 'i can't stop it!"

Aiden's face scrunched up in disgust.

"Nithya what's wrong with you? Talking about puke while we eat. Sigh"

"Okay fine, tell me what's bothering you then?"

"Hmm....my dad thinks i should start dating again"

She smiled and took a sip of her coffee.

"Yeah? And are you?"

He shrugs.

"I mean i guess, I don't know where to start though"

"You can start with someone close, like...me?"

"Oh? You...want to go out on a date with me?"

She shrugs.

"I mean sure, why not....unless you don't like me?"

He winced. He didn't like her, but he also didn't want to hurt his friend's feelings.

"We can go out...tonight"

She internally screamed.

"I'd like that. See you tonight"

After Nithya had left, Aiden face palmed.

"What the fuck did I just do?"

"Ring around the rosie, a pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all fall down!"

"Again, again!"

"Okay this time let's sing another song"

"Yay!"

Sandy smiled looking at Cayden play with the kids. He was such a great inspiration to them.

Sandy's shelter was an orphanage for special needs children. Every month, a parent comes to the shelter with guilt ridden faces leaving their kids with her. She didn't mind though, she loves kids.

"The itsy bitsy spider, went up the water sprout"

"Down came the rain and washed the spider down!"

"This one is boring!"

She laughed, shaking her head.

"Okay kids, snack time!"

"Yay!"

Cayden sighed in relief. He stood up and walked out of the house.

"Going to meet him?" Sandy called out.

Was he?

"Uhm...no, just a casual walk"

"Okay, did you take your card?"

"Yeah"

This time Cayden avoided the bus. He didn't want to see that man again, but he knew he was fooling himself.

It took him twenty minutes to arrive into town, the busy streets was something he hated. Too much people.

Cayden enters a small cafe, the place smelled of warm apple pie.

"How may I help you today?" A young man asked. Cayden took a small glimpse of him. He had curly blonde hair, dark blue eyes and rosy cheeks.

"Uhm....I'll have your pie of the day"

The man smiled.

"Sure, I'll bring it over your table"

He found a table at the back, it was surprisingly quiet. He liked it.

"Warm apple pie with homemade whipped cream"

Cayden nodded and grabbed the fork. He took a bite and the pie just melted in his mouth. He smiled.

"It's great"

The young man smiled.

"Thanks, enjoy"

While he ate, Cayden's mind was taking him to that man again, which was a surprise because he couldn't focus on just one thing.

"I don't even know his name"

"We have a code blue!"

Aiden tossed his coffee in the trash and rushed into the patient's room.

"What's his heartbeat rate?"

"68 beats per minute"

"Blood pressure?"

"206 over 68"

"Give him an adrenaline shot and a few chest compressions to start his heart again"

"Yes doctor"

They all release a sigh of relief as the patient stabilized. Aiden walked out rubbing his forehead. He was tired.

He bumped into Nithya as he walked by.

"You look tired. Should we reschedule?" She asks. Aiden shook his head.

"I'm fine, all I need is a cup of coffee and I'll be awake"

She giggled.

"Okay, see you later"

He sighed watching her walk away. Maybe going on a date with her wouldn't be bad. It's just a date, nothing more, nothing less.

"How was your meal?"

"Uhm...good"

"I'm glad to hear that. I'm Jaxon, the owner"

"Oh....okay"

Jaxon chuckled and gave Cayden his change. He immediately could tell Cayden was Autistic, his brother was like that as well.

"Enjoy your day"

Cayden nodded and walked out. The cold wind took him by surprise, he had gotten used to the warm air conditioning inside the cafe.

His black boots crunched the snow as he walked to the bus stop, he was too tired to talk.

"Cayden?"

He stopped and looked around. Who called him?

"Oh my God it is you, Cayden hello"

Next thing he knows a strange woman engulfs him in a hug. He felt uncomfortable so he pushed her away. The woman stumbled back and laughed for a moment.

"I'm sorry. Hi I'm Jade, Aiden's mother. Remember me?"
