Chapter 12

ALESSIA

It's so tiring being up all day handling all this while I'm pregnant. My feet are always swollen, and my back is killing me. This baby is playing kickboxing with my bladder. I can't wait to have this baby, but I have a couple months to go. Molly is traveling with us as a precaution because Jax wants to always know that I'm ok. I have a scheduled appointment with her in the morning and I should be finding out what the sex of the baby is.

I'm hoping for a baby boy because having that many girls in my home is tough to handle. Boys may always get into some kind of trouble but there is nothing like a little girl throwing a tantrum, let's not even talk about when they are almost teenagers. The eye rolls, hands on the hip, stomping the foot and popping of the neck can make anyone want to commit murder a few times. Plus, Jace is growing up to be an Alpha, he always thinks he must act tough, so I lost my sweet baby boy a long time ago. Not that he isn't sweet because he is, but I want a little boy that doesn't act like it isn't cool to hang out with mom. Kind of like a momma's boy. Don't judge me. Jaxson and Jace are already outnumbered when it comes to who gangs up on who and the boys never win when it comes to the girls. Jaxson wants another girl. I think he secretly likes having his soft side come out. A side that nobody sees except for those who live in our house. Gabby and Nessa also have him wrapped around their fingers. They are always screaming for their Uncle Jax. There is nothing like seeing the Alpha King play dolls and have a tea party. Alena used to put makeup on him and do his hair. He did draw the line at her putting nail polish on him because God forbid someone sees it. Ha-ha! It would so kill his reputation.

Thinking about it makes me miss my kids even more. I wish this was all over and done with so we could go home, and I could hug and kiss my babies.

Speaking of, I think it's also time that we send for Alena. Our most serious threats have been handled and I want her here with me. I'm also thinking about when I send for her, I want to bring some others from her school to get the experience of visiting packs and see what it's like in different places besides their own packs.

The school that Alena attends has three different packs. I need to talk to Jaxson about getting the Alpha's-to-be and the Beta's-to-be. Maybe even the thirds. I'm not sure. This wasn't the plan, but it just popped in my head. I really think it will be a good learning experience for the future.

I got up and went back into the office area where I knew my husband would be working.

"Jaxson." I said.

"Yes Baby?" He replied.

I told him about my idea, and he agreed. We would need to contact those packs and let them know to have those ready, so everyone was prepared. I need to talk to my daughter before everyone else finds out, so she isn't caught off guard. This wasn't the plan, but I have a feeling that she isn't going to be so happy about it. I rather be the one telling her then them otherwise she is going to kill me.

I picked up my phone and dialed her number. I know she is in school but what better excuse than having the queen call you. I don't ever call her during school so I'm sure she will pick up when she sees it's me.

"Hello?" Alena said questioningly that it was me.

"Hey babe, I know you're at school, but I need to speak with you. It's important. Are you in class?" I asked.

"I'm at lunch. What's up?" She asked.

"Well, when you get home, I need you to get ready because I'm going to send for you this evening. My next call is to the school so I can let them know to have your classes ready to do online. But there is something else I need to tell you about this trip." I said. She cut me off before I could finish.

"OH MY GOD! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M LEAVING TONIGHT. I'M SO EXCITED! Wait, what do you need to tell me?" She screamed but whispered the last part.

"Well, if you would have let me finish, I would have told you that we have decided that all three alphas, betas and thirds from your school will be joining you on this trip. I've also decided that since I'm aware that you aren't going to be too thrilled about this information, Courtney will also be joining you." I said.

Alena got quiet. All I could hear was the noise in the background of the kids around her.

"Alena, please understand that this is a good experience for them to see what it's like at other packs. To learn how to be good leaders for their own packs and since these three packs are the ones that surround us, we want them all on the same page to help protect our family." I said.

"Mom, I get it. Yeah, I'm not exactly happy about it because I'm not friends with any of them but I do understand. Lunch is just about over so I'll call you when I get home." Alena said.

I could hear it in her voice that she was really upset. I don't know why though. I know she's not friends with them but as far as I know, nothing has ever happened to warrant her to be that upset.

I guess I'm going to have to do my own investigation when they get here. They better hope and pray that they have never done anything to hurt my baby or there will be hell to pay.

I just got off the phone with the school and different packs letting them know what was going on. I got mixed reactions about it. One alpha wasn't too happy about taking his son and friends with me. He thought it was dangerous and I was putting the future of his pack at risk. After I assured him that they would all be protected by my royal guard and they weren't expected to fight at all, he finally calmed down.

I know that wasn't the reason why he gave me a hard time. He's just a jackass that likes to fuck with me but what he doesn't know is, if he keeps at it, I'm going to put my foot up his ass. His son is 17 years old; he's taking over as alpha within a year. If his son can't handle this, then he shouldn't be alpha. What the hell are they going to do if rogues attack his pack? He can't protect him forever. He should have trained him properly then he'd have all the confidence in the world in his future alpha.

He should be grateful that I've chosen him. Hopefully they are nothing alike because if he is, we are going to fix that during this trip.

All the others were happy. They see it as I do and are excited that I've chosen their kids.

This isn't going to be a school field trip; they are going to have to work and train with everyone else. They are going to be doing paperwork, helping others and busting their asses working while still doing their schoolwork. Nobody says that being in the top three ranks of a pack is easy.

I joined the others in the conference room while they were still going through paperwork, trying to organize things so we have a smooth transition when we decide to choose the alpha. Things are still leading towards the Beta even though he still has some more trials to go through.

I'm on my laptop preparing a list of warriors who are going to transport Alena and the others. I've decided that everyone is going to meet at the school so it's easier to get everyone at once. I want Jaxson to go but he refuses because he won't leave me. He's so frustrating.

Having Alena travel by car is a risk. If certain people find out that she is out there, they will definitely go after her. Nobody except Alena and my family knows that she is going so hopefully there won't be any issues.

'Thomas, I need you to escort Alena, Courtney and some others from the school and bring them here. Gather the top ten warriors to travel with you. I've sent a list of names of who is going to attend. I want you to leave asap.' I mind linked him.

'I'm on it. I can't wait to see my baby girl.' He mind linked back.

I couldn't help but laugh. Thomas loves Alena dearly and will do anything for her. With everything that he has been through, I think it was Alena who helped him the most. She sensed his pain and fought to save him. She never gave up even when he tried to push her away.
