ALESSIA

The next day, two of my warriors left with Connor en route to our pack. He will be imprisoned within my cells for a long time. There was no way I was going to leave him here because I don't know who is loyal to him. I wasn't going to risk someone helping him escape even though I've taken his wolf. He's not completely gone; he's just disconnected from his wolf. I've locked him away so Conner can't shift. He is basically a human right now. It's the worst punishment he could get but he deserves it. I still can't believe how he treated his own pack.

Thomas and Jaxson are working with Jesse. They are going over the things he needs to learn to be a good alpha. Jesse has had some training over the years but for some reason, Conner cut him out of everything a couple years ago. When you're the heir, you usually start training between the ages of seven to ten.

This morning they were on the training field, testing out Jesse's abilities. He's strong, I'll give him that. He easily beat Thomas which is to be expected because Thomas is a Gamma. It was funny to see Thomas get tossed on his ass a few times. Jesse didn't stand a chance fighting against Jaxson. Jax mostly showed him what he needed to do to be stronger. He has a lot of training ahead of him.

I'm thinking about all the other packs that I will be going to. I'm sure Conner won't be the only alpha that is going to be forced to step down. I think I'm going to have training set up at my pack for all those who have recently stepped up into the positions of alpha, beta, and gamma. Something like a monthly training session to help them with whatever they are struggling with. I don't want to throw them into this just to see them fail.

Jessica and I have been in the office. We have been going through Conners filing cabinets, drawers and computer files. It's a mess and we are trying to clean it up. Looking at his files, you can clearly see that the old files are in order. Everything is clear and organized but in recent years, everything is thrown together. Even these handwritten notes are disturbing. His handwriting has become sloppy and sometimes unreadable. There were clearly some type of mental health issues going on with him. I don't know if getting older, getting ready to hand off alpha to his son was too much for him. Sometimes losing power can make someone go crazy if they crave it enough which Conner surely did.

As we finish up organizing as much as we can, I decide to call it a night. I just want to go to the dining room and eat dinner. I've been snacking on random things today and I so badly want a hot cooked meal.

Walking in the dining room, the pack was on edge being in the same room as me. Everyone kept their heads down and stayed quiet.

"Hello everyone. Please relax and enjoy your meal as if I weren't here. I would love to see everyone talking and laughing with a smile. Things are going to be different from now on." I said.

An elder man stood. He looked around then faced me.

"Our apologies, my queen, it's been a very long time since everyone here has been able to relax and enjoy themselves. Our old Alpha wasn't a kind man and loved to control everyone. Talking in the dining room was forbidden so it will take time for everyone to get used to it." He said.

I nodded my head and went on with my meal. As I was talking to Jaxson and Jessica, I could hear soft whispers. I didn't want to look at them because I didn't want them to stop. Jaxson gave me a warm smile because he knew what I was thinking. I grabbed his hand and held it.

The door to the dining room burst open and two of my warriors ran in straight towards me.

"We are under attack!" My warrior Williams said.

You could hear the gasps throughout the room. Jaxson and I jumped up.

"Jess, please make sure everyone that can't fight gets to a safe place." I said then rushed out with Jaxson on my ass.

I can feel Jaxson's tension thinking about his pregnant wife running, I mean waddling towards an attack. Glancing at him, I can tell that he's fighting his wolf. He doesn't want to shift yet, but his wolf is out for blood. Nobody threatens me without them going crazy.

'Baby, I need you to think clearly. Take a deep breath. We are safe. Between my powers and having you at my side, nothing is going to happen to us. I have the strongest husband and mate in the world. I know you got me.' I mind linked Jaxson while touching his arm. I can see him calm down.

We got outside and Lucas came up to me.

"Alessia, many of the warriors from the Blood Moon Pack have entered this territory. They have taken out several patrols and are headed this way. Their alpha is with them." He said.

The Blood Moon Pack is considered the 2nd strongest pack right behind mine. We were scheduled to travel there after leaving here because their Alpha Jason Bullock is against me being queen and doesn't follow my laws. He does what he wants. I'm unsure of how he treats his pack, but I'll find out when I get there. He's been close with Conner for years so I'm sure word has spread that Conner has been taken into custody.

All my warriors were standing outside the pack house surrounding me while the warriors from Dark Shadow Pack were rushing out of the pack house and some from their homes. Everyone is looking at me, waiting for my orders.

I'm not sure how the land is designed and how many people are in their homes to tell them to hold back. I look over at Jesse. He looks nervous but quickly covers it up when he sees me.

"How many homes are in that direction before their pack gets to us?" I asked him.

"We have homes going all the way till about a mile from the border. That area is the most populated area in the territory." He said.

"Fuck!" I yelled.

I can't just wait for them to come to us. We must advance forward because I don't want anyone innocent getting hurt but going into the woods, I have less control over my powers because visibility is lessened. They have the element of surprise.

Leaving five of my warriors and five of the pack warriors behind to protect the pack house, we move forward. As we entered the woods, I could smell them. I hear footsteps around us, but I see nothing. They were scattered around. Bullock is smart by not having his army charge forward. He has them spread out and hiding.

'Everyone spread out in two rows and keep your eyes open. They are going to try and ambush you.' I mind linked everyone.

I'm standing in the middle of the two rows with Jaxson at my side. There is no way he's going to leave me. If he had his way, I would be locked away in the pack house under heavy guard.

I heard an ear-piercing scream and my stomach felt like it was lodged in my throat. I felt sick. I looked out and saw a warrior standing in front of a house, holding a little girl by her neck. She was dangling in the air while another held a woman by her hair while she was pushed down on her knees in the dirt. I could tell that he was cutting the little girl's air supply off because she was turning blue.

The rage that ran through my body was overwhelming. That's a fucking innocent child! I could faintly hear our warriors rush in that direction, hoping to save them. Nope, I got this one.

I looked over in that direction and focused. Suddenly, both Blood Moon warriors dropped to the ground screaming. They released their victims, reaching their hands up to their heads trying to do anything to help the pain. Just imagine, having a headache multiplied by fifty. The pounding is intense. It almost makes you want to gouge your eyes out. No, it won't kill them, but they will think twice before ever crossing me.
