ALESSIA

Alena was in the bathroom with Aryanna getting dressed. I thought about leaving her while she was in there, but I couldn’t do that to her. I knew this was important to her. Everything she went through; she has a right to confront those who plotted against her. I would feel the same way.

I sat on the bed, anxiously waiting for her to come out. I was nervous about her hurting herself, but I know Aryanna would help her.

Jaxson mind linked me telling me that he had everyone in custody. They were on their way to the pack house. Majority of them had their own homes.

I didn’t tell him that Alena was awake. I can only imagine the look on his face when he sees her.

Alena came walking out of the bathroom. She was wearing leggings and a long sweater that covered most of her bandages. They peeked out around her neck a little, but her hair was brushed down, coming over her shoulders. She wore her black Nike sneakers and I noticed that she had a little bit of makeup on. I’m sure Aryanna put it on to give her color since her skin was slightly pale. It hid the circles under her eyes very well.

Looking at her now, you would have never thought that only yesterday, she was fighting for her life. I couldn’t help but tear up. This is all very emotional for me right now. I blew out a breath of air and walked to her, giving her a hug.

“I’m so proud of you and thank you for saving my life. I love you so much.” I whispered in her ear.

“I love you too Mommy. I could never stand there and let anything happen to you.” She said.

Thank God we don’t have to walk extremely far. We will be walking through the pack house and out the front door. The entire pack is outside. Jaxson ordered them all out so everyone can witness the prisoners walk of shame.

I held Alena's hand and walked out. As we made it to the foyer, Aryanna grabbed Alena’s other hand. Jace ran ahead of us to get the door.

The door opened, I stepped out first then Alena and Aryanna. Jace came out last. We stood on the top step while hundreds of pack members stared at us. I looked at Jaxson and he stood there frozen. Tears filled his eyes until it was forced to fall. After a few seconds, he quickly stepped towards her and wrapped his arms around her. I could hear them both crying. Aryanna wrapped her arms around Alena and her dad.

Looking over at Jake, Thomas, and Lucas, you could see that they were emotional too.

When Jaxson pulled away from her, he grabbed her hand, holding her close to him. He turned towards the crowd and cleared his throat.

“Hello everyone, thank you all for coming. As you all are aware, rogues attacked us. There were many injuries sustained during that attack along with lives lost. It was an attack that never should have happened, but it did. That attack was designed to bring my family down. You see, many people feel like we shouldn’t be here. They don’t think packs should have to answer to anyone but their alpha. They don’t think alphas should be held accountable for their actions. As an alpha, it is their job to protect their pack, provide for them, keep peace and stability. We are traveling around because that is not being done. We are holding those who don’t follow the laws accountable. We are making sure pack money is spent on the pack. Nobody should be judged by their rank. Nobody should have to worry about not being able to eat. Nobody should have to worry about being abused.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t just a rogue attack, this was a calculated event, designed to kill my daughter to weaken us enough for them to overpower us. They wanted to use the death of my daughter to fulfill a mother’s worst nightmare. They can’t beat her with her powers, so they tried to beat her by killing her child, hoping to cause so much pain that she was incapable of fighting back but they failed to realize that my daughter is too strong. She managed to not only save all those who were unable to shift by having them climb into trees but to fight and succeed.
