JESSICA

Walking from the woods, I just left the guys out there looking dumb as hell. They didn't expect that from me. I don't know why because Alena is my main concern in all of this, and she is hurting right now.

What made me go looking for my brother was when I saw Alena in her room balling her eyes out on Courtney's shoulder. My blood immediately started boiling at whoever made her feel like this. I've never seen her cry that hard.

Over the years, my relationship with Alena has been very strong. She grew up looking at me as a second mom/best friend. I love her just as much as I love my own children and I will always be there for her. We share a very special bond.

There are things that a teenage girl wants to talk about but doesn't want to go to their parents, so Alena comes to me. I've always kept our conversations confidential. I'm going to tell her the truth regardless of if it's what she wants to hear or not, and it's not about my personal feelings on the situation.

Alessia knows that Alena had a crush on Damon when she first started high school, but I knew more details. She told me when the whole school found out that she liked him because of that little brat running her mouth.

She called me and told me about him breaking up with his girlfriend and how she walked around the corner at school and found him making out with Britney. I know he's been trying to talk to her since then, but she's been avoiding him because she doesn't know what to do.

I haven't spoken to her privately since she's been here, but I saw them get out of the same car when she arrived so I'm sure there is much to talk about.

I spoke to Alena briefly to find out why she was crying. She told me about Jaxson catching Damon in her room and saw the hickey. He flipped out but when Alessia came in and told me what happened between them outside, I knew my brother must have bumped his head. For him to act like that towards his wife and daughter, he's being an asshole and I had plenty to say to him.

I walked back into the house and went upstairs. As I walked into Alena's room, she was sitting on the couch by the balcony, looking outside by herself.

"Hey girlie, why are you sitting by yourself?" I asked.

"Mom got a mind link that she needed to do something, and she asked Courtney to help her really quick. I think she sensed that I wanted to be alone for a little while." She said.

"You want to tell me what's been going on between you and Damon? How did it get so serious so quickly?" I asked.

"I don't know. When we were in the car, Thomas and Courtney got out. We were left alone, and I couldn't avoid him. We were both in the back seat, he told me how he felt about me. He kissed me and I kissed him back. Yeah, it was my first kiss, but it was magical. We kissed for a while. He pulled me into his lap. All we did was make out. When we got here, I started avoiding him again because I got scared of how he made me feel. After training, he followed me to my room. He kissed me. We were standing by the bathroom door. We got a little into it and that's when he put this on my neck." She said while pointing at the hickey.

"Alena, you know I always got your back, but I need you to be careful. His feeling didn't come on this strongly out of nowhere so I'm sure he's liked you for a while but tried to ignore it because he was in a relationship. Things are getting serious too fast, and I don't want you to fall when he finds his mate." I said.

"Damon mentioned to my mom about what if we are mates. He said he's never felt this way before. My mom told him about my dad's relationship with Becca. I can't help but wonder if it's what my dad felt or is it real." She said.

"Well Becca was crazy and clung to my brother for dear life. She used every card there was to guilt him into staying so we can't compare the two of you, but they did think they were mates. They were really close growing up and when my parents died, she was there for him in a way nobody else was. I hate to say it but without her, he was broken. He was struggling with the death of my parents and having to run the pack. He was so young; he was challenged by others, and we had many rogue attacks. It was a lot to deal with. The pressure was too much, and he was failing. She lifted him up when he wanted to give up. He was ready to give the pack up, but she wouldn't let him. He connected with her, and many people thought they were mates, including myself. When he turned 18, his wolf didn't recognize her as his mate. She persuaded him to wait until she turned of age but when the time came, they realized they weren't mates. They chose to stay together instead of him looking for his mate and that almost resulted in losing your mom." I said.

"Aunt Jessica, I love him. I don't know where it came from, but I feel it. When he kissed me and held me in his arms, that was when I knew it. I don't want to be without him. I can't ignore him anymore because when I do, it feels horrible." She said.

"It would be great if he was your mate so you can be together forever but what's going to happen if he's not? It's going to be you that is hurt the most. I want you to be careful." I said.

"I know if I continue this relationship and he finds his mate, I will be heartbroken, but it could be months or even years from now. During that time, I could make great memories and go through an amazing adventure that will last me a lifetime." She said.

I couldn't help but smile at her. I gave her a big hug. She clearly has her mind made up and I don't think anyone is going to change it. The only thing left is dealing with dear old daddy.

As we pulled apart, there was a knock at the door, we both looked up and Damon was standing there. He looked nervous. I don't know if it was because of me or if he was unsure of what her decision will be.

"Am I interrupting anything?" Damon said.

"No, but I would like to talk to both of you for a minute so why don't you come sit down." I said.

He came across the room and sat next to Alena on the couch while I got up and sat across from them in a chair so I could face them. He reached for her hand and held it on her lap.

"I've spoken to Jaxson and let's just say, he's not exactly happy about this. He's 100% against it and I honestly don't know how he's going to handle seeing both of you together. Damon, be prepared because not only do you have to worry about her dad but also her uncles. They feel the same way. Your mom and I are trying to deescalate the situation. Your mom and dad are fighting because of it. I'm sure she will eventually get through to him, but it might take some time.

I suggest you not be touching in any way in front of them until they get used to this relationship. That included holding hands. Damon, she is younger than you. You have more experience than her but there is no sex. I don't care how you feel about each other or how intense things get. She is too young for that. Plus, Jaxson will kill you." I said.

"Aunt Jess, I'm nowhere near ready for sex and Damon knows that. He's ok with that." Alena said while Damon nodded his head.

I got up and gave them both a hug. I told them to be careful. As I turned to walk out the room, Jaxson was standing there.
