JAXSON
We’re all standing here in the middle of the restaurant. Alessia is holding onto me for dear life because I want to rip this bitch apart for disrespecting her. How dare she let that shit come out of her mouth when she knows nothing about her.
Alessia came from a wealthy family. Her parents supported her through school. When she graduated, she had an inheritance but barely used it. She got a job when she moved in with us. She cut back on her hours towards the end of her pregnancy with the twins but worked as long as possible. When I finally managed to fix things between us, she was titled Queen after I marked her. She built a multimillion-dollar empire from scratch because we hadn’t had a King or Queen in hundreds of years.
Yes, we all worked alongside her, but she is the foundation and heart of it all. Not only does she help our kind but also helps with charities around the country for humans. She’s not the woman to just write a check and say she helped. She is at the frontline to whatever cause she is working on at the moment. She knows exactly where the money goes and who it helps.
Then to stand there and call her a whore. She’s been with two men sexually. That damn sure doesn’t justify it.
I’m so caught up in my own anger that I don’t notice Alena grabbing her and pushing her grandmother against the wall. Alena is fiercely protective of her mom. She knows this woman is Stella, her grandmother but that doesn’t stop her. Her veins are sticking out of her neck and her knuckles are white from gripping Stella’s shirt.
She turned towards Alessia, and I can see they are mind linking. Alessia is most likely confirming everything and trying to calm Alena down. There are too many people around and we don’t want anyone to call the police.
By this time, I’m calm. My focus is on my girls. I need to be there for them.
“Baby girl, I need you to let her go. Nothing this woman says is true. She can’t hurt us. Let’s go see your grandparents.” I said. I’m trying to keep my voice in control.
I walked up to her and held her wrists, pressing a small amount of pressure, telling her to let go. She does. I pulled her back and wrapped my arms around her shoulders, pressing her head against my chest.
Alena has been through so much in these last several weeks and the last thing she needs right now is this. She knows about her birth father’s family but actually seeing them is completely different. You're supposed to love and cherish your grandparents like she does with Alessia’s parents but her other grandmother is a cold-hearted bitch.
“WAIT!” Stella said.
She keeps looking around. Her eyes are scanning between Alessia, Alena, and mine. She’s confused and desperately trying to figure it out. I would say that Alena resembles both her parents. I’ve seen pictures of Jonathan. Alessia had them framed and put in Alena’s room. It never bothered me because he gave me Alena.
“Thomas, Lucas, take everyone to the back room where Alessia’s parents are.” I ordered.
I mind linked Alessia. “Baby, please go with Alena. Let me handle this mess. I need for you to relax”
“Fine. Don’t let her get to you and hurry up, my parents will be waiting for you.” She linked me back.
I waited for everyone to leave. Lucas closed the door. You couldn’t see inside the room from where we were. I turned towards Stella.
“Stay away from my family. How dare you speak to my wife like that. Next time, my wife will not be able to stop me from dealing with you.” I said. I started walking away.
“Who is that girl's father?” Stella asked. I stopped.
“I am.” I said, turning around and glared at her.
“She looks nothing like you.” I walked right up to her, inches apart and looked down.
“Stay away from my family.”
“Why do I have the feeling that she belongs to my son?” She asked but it sounded more like she knew it was true.
I was furious for her to place a claim on Alena. Her deadly glare told me exactly what she wanted me to know so I pushed all my anger and power at her. Everyone close by could feel it. It radiated through their bodies. It didn’t matter if they were human or not, they all looked away.
I was done with this conversation. I’m not going to confirm it. I don’t want her nowhere near my family. I may be King and be worth millions but that doesn’t mean she isn’t a threat. I walked away towards the door. She tried calling out to me, but I ignored her. As I turned to open it, I gave her one last look, daring her to follow me.
She didn’t. She might be a lot of things but she’s not stupid.
Entering the room and sitting in the seat between Alessia and Alena, I turn towards Alessia’s parents and say hello. We ordered our food and enjoyed each other’s company.
Looking around at the dinner table, dessert was being served. We were full of conversations and laughter; it didn’t seem like the events earlier had happened. Everyone looked happy. My girls were excited to spend time with Alessia’s parents.
I’ve blocked Alessia from our bond. I know she can get past it, but she has to purposely force past my block. If I hadn’t blocked her, she would feel my anxiety and anger. I may have controlled the situation tonight, but I know this isn’t the last of it. The way she spoke when she staked a claim towards Alena, using the phrase “belongs to my son,” I know she is going to do something.
There is something off about that woman. Her scent is unfamiliar and odd. I can’t put my finger on it, but it makes me weary.
Years ago, Alessia told me that she kept Alena a secret and never told Jonathan’s family because she was scared they would try to take Alena away from her. There were never any issues relating to it, so we never looked into Jonathan’s family. Besides from what Jonathan told Alessia when he was alive and how they treated her since the night of the accident, she was never curious about anything else. She felt that if she started digging around, she would risk exposing Alena.
Financially, they don’t stand a chance against us but if they were to go through the court system in New York, knowing they were well connected and the fact that Alessia kept Alena from them may not have looked the best on our part. There was no proof regarding how badly they treated her before and after the accident, so a judge could easily say Alessia was in the wrong. That's a chance we weren’t willing to take.
As we got up to leave, Alessia held my arm tight. I removed my block.
“Jax, I’m really worried. What are we going to do?” She mind linked me.
“Don’t worry baby. We aren’t going to do anything. Nothing has happened yet but if it does, we will handle it. No need to stress right now.” I linked back.
She continued to hold me when we walked through the restaurant to the parking lot. She scanned the area, looking around. She’s waiting for Stella or someone else to pop up. Alena carelessly walked in front of us with Damon, laughing at something Thomas said.I'm sorry my updates have taken so long, I've had alot going on in my life and it's been hard to take tye time out to focus.
I hope your enjoying it so far.
