JAXSON

I’ve been sitting here for hours. My left hand is holding Alessia’s hand and my right is holding Alena’s. I’m so grateful that Jessica thought to ask to have both of them in the same room because my mind is so messed up right now, I don’t think I would have thought of that and I would have constantly been going back and forth.

Jessica is sleeping on the couch across the room while Lucas is sitting with her. He’s been coming in and out because he’s been checking on Thomas to see how everything is going.

Everytime I think about what happened, I feel myself getting mad all over again. I’ve considered going to the cells and helping integrate myself just to relieve some stress but the thought of something happening while i’m gone, terrifies me.

There was a knock on the door, I looked up as the door opened. Jace and Aryanna came through, straight into my arms.  I wrapped my arms around them like my life depended on it. I felt my knees getting weak and almost dropped to the floor. If it weren’t for the twins holding me so tight, I would have fallen to the floor.

I could hear both of them crying. They pulled back and looked at Alena then at their mom.

“Daddy, is Alena going to be ok? What happened to mom?” Aryanna asked.

“Your sister is a fighter. She will get through this. Your mom is only sleeping. The doctor gave her something to calm down so the stress wouldn’t affect the baby.” I whispered.

I looked up to see Emily and Jake standing in the doorway. Emily gave me a sad smile.

“Hey big brother, how are you doing?” Emily asked.

I might be the oldest but Emily has always been the one that holds us all together. Ever since we were little, she has always been like the mother of us. She was the one who never did anything to get into trouble and would keep me and Jessica in line.

When I found out my parents died, she held me while I cried. When I’m conflicted about something, she is the one I turn to. When Alessia and I get into an argument, she is the one who tells me I’m wrong and makes me apologize because I’m too stubborn to do it myself. She is the Beta Female of the pack and they love her so much. She is there for anyone who needs to talk. I know it's Luna's job and Alessia does great at it but Emily is right there with her. She also maintains order in our house. All the kids are basically under her control. She sets the schedule and tells us when and where we have to be to drop off or pick up. I honestly don’t know what we would do without her.

Once I let go of the twins, I rushed over and grabbed Emily. I pulled her into my chest and held her tight. I couldn’t help it but I broke down. I felt like a little kid and I cried. Her grip got tighter around me.

“It’s going to be ok. Everything is going to be ok.” She whispered into my chest. I just nodded because I couldn’t speak.

I sat back down in my chair and Aryanna sat on my lap while everyone else sat on the couch. Jace was leaning on Jessica’s chest while she had her arms wrapped around him.

Molly came in. She looked at the monitors and wrote things down on her clipboard.

“Alessia’s blood pressure has come down. I would like to see it come down a little more but at least it’s in the safe zone. She should be waking up soon. I would like to give her more meds but with everyone here, I don’t think she would allow that. If she does wake up, we have to keep her as calm as possible.” Molly said.

As Molly walked over to the machines attached to Alena, I saw Alessia move.

“Molly.” I said and pointed to Alessia.

She walked back over to the side of her bed.

“Alessia, can you hear me?” She asked.

She started moving. Her hands came up to her face and rubbed her eyes.

“Yes, I hear you.” She whispered.

I got up and grabbed a glass of water. I sat her up and brought the glass up to her lips. She took a small sip and cleared her throat. She looked around and immediately made eye contact with Alena. Her eyes teared up.

“Hi Mommy.” Jace said, breaking Alessia’s stare. She snapped her head towards the sound of his voice across the room.

“Baby. What are you doing here?” She asked. She looked around and saw everyone in the room. Aryanna rushed to her and gave her a hug.

“We came because we wanted to be here with you and Alena.” Jace said.

Alessia couldn’t help but smile at him. She raised her hand up and he quickly jumped off the couch into her arms. She lowered her hand down around him. Aryanna and Jace were crying but Alessia was soothing them.

“Hey hey, none of that. I need you to be strong for your sister. It's our job to be there for her.” She said.

Aryanna walked over to Alena’s bed and climbed alongside her. She laid on the pillow next to her while draping her arm around Alena’s waist, making sure she didn't touch any of the dressings. I couldn’t help but smile.

There was another knock on the door. The door opened, it was Damon. He froze, staring at Alena. You would see him take a big inhale of breath but didn’t exhale. His mouth dropped.

I tensed up but before I could say anything or find a way to get him to leave, Alessia spoke up.

“What can we do for you Damon?” She asked.

“I-I Umm I mean Thomas wants to see the alpha and beta. He says he has some information to share with you.” He struggled to say.

“Did they find out who the traitor is?” I asked.

“Umm, yes but not all of them. We have two but they say there is more.” He said

“May I ask, how is she?” He asked.

“Alive.” I said.

“She is stable but she lost a lot of blood, she wasn’t breathing when they brought her in so her body needs to recover. They are going to run tests on her tomorrow to see if that affected her brain.” Alessia said.

I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.  I got up, walked to the door with Jake bhind me. I turned to see Damon just standing there, he was staring at Alena.

“Boy, let’s go!” I yelled.

“Jaxson, stop it. Let him stay for a little while.” Alessia said and everyone snapped their necks in her direction.

I felt my whole body tense and the pressure of biting down on my jaw. We are already in a stressful situation and she has to go and do this.

‘Why the hell should I let him stay?! I don’t want him here.’ I mind linked her.

‘Now you know, when she wakes up and she finds out that you kept him away and didn’t allow him to see her at all, she is going to be upset. She cares for him and he cares for her. If someone would try to keep you away from me, how would you feel?’ She yelled back at me.

“HE’S NOT HER FUCKING MATE SO YOU CAN’T COMPARE US!’ I yelled.

‘Who do you think you are talking to like that?! You don’t know what they are and until then, BACK OFF!’ She said, yelling the last part.

She turned her head away from my direction. The look on her face clearly showed how pissed she was. I didn’t mean to yell at her like that, my emotions are sky high and i’m frustrated. Damn, I’m going to pay for this because I know I fucked up.

I tried to mind link her again to apologize but she blocked me. Everyone in the room was watching us, not a sound could be heard except Alena’s monitors.

“Baby, I’m sorry.” I said. Everyone heard me and waited to see her response but there was none. She wouldn’t even look at me.

I turned back around and walked out the room with Jake. We are headed towards the cells and I hope someone is giving Thomas a hard time because I really need to release some of this frustration. If I don’t Alessia is going to have my balls.
