Chapter 18

ALESSIA

I watched Jaxson walk down the hallway. He was walking fast, and you could clearly see by his body language that he was fuming. It's going to take a lot for him not to kill Damon for touching our daughter. I have my work cut out for me. I just need to find out what the hell happened and what Jaxson saw before I know what my next step is.

I looked over at Alena and she was looking at the floor. You could see the tears that flowed down her cheeks.  She has always been a daddy’s girl. In his eyes, he still sees her as a little girl, and she has never done anything to challenge that. Jaxson and Jace have always been there to put an end to things regarding boys before anything starts. She would huff and puff but, in the end, she really didn’t care too much since it was all harmless. 

Seeing her standing here in her room with Damon and a big hickey on her neck, we have a lot to deal with because I don’t know what’s going on between them. I haven’t heard anything about Damon in years. I know when she first saw him, she told me she had a crush on him, and she thought he was so hot. The last thing I knew, he had a girlfriend and they have been together for a long time.

I need to control this because Jaxson isn’t going to handle this right.  I know she is 15 years old, but he’s not ready for her to have a boyfriend, especially an alpha boyfriend. They are intense and possessive and the thought of Alena having sex with him will drive him insane.

Jaxson lost his virginity at a young age. Being an alpha, they are very hormonal having a high sex drive. The instinct to procreate is strong and sometimes very overwhelming. Him being an alpha himself, he knows what it's like. I can feel his emotions and they are all over the place.

“Ok, what happened when your father walked in?” I asked. I was looking at Alena.

Alena turned and walked towards the bathroom. 

“Oh my God Damon, this is huge! Are you serious?!” Alena yelled. She looked in the mirror and saw her neck.

Damon had a smirk on his face but quickly dropped his head so I couldn’t see it.

“Sorry, I got a little carried away.” Damon said.

“A little carried away, you think. My father is going to kill you.” Alena said.

“Alena, what's going on between both of you? Are you dating?” I asked.

“I don’t know. Everything just happened so fast.” She said. I looked over at Damon.

“I like her, I really like her. I would like to date her but since I told her that I liked her, she has been avoiding me. So, after training today, I tried talking to her, but she just took off. I went after her. We just kissed, that's it.” Damon said.

“Damon, aren’t you about to turn 18? You're going to find your mate soon so why start something with Alena if it’s not going to last.” I said.

“Yes I am. I want to be with my mate but... It’s hard to explain. I’ve always seen Alena; I knew she liked me, but I was in a relationship, so I never thought anything of it. Now that I’m single, my feelings for her have seriously changed. She’s all that I think about. It's driving me crazy that she ignores me. Kissing her feels so right, so good. I couldn’t help myself leaving that hickey on her neck. I had to leave something, I couldn’t mark her, but I wanted the other guys to stop looking at her. Besides, it's not a guarantee that I'll find my mate anytime soon. I could go months, years without finding her.” He said.

I walked over and grabbed Alena’s hand. I guided her to the bed and sat down. She is sitting next to me. I held her hand and turned towards her.

“What do you want? You know that he could find his mate as early as the day of his birthday. Yes, he may not. It is possible they won't find each other any time soon. Are you willing to risk putting your feelings out there and getting hurt?” I asked her.

“Daddy didn’t find you till he was 25. Aunt Jessica and Uncle Thomas were older too. What if I choose to walk away because of the what ifs and he doesn’t either?” She said.

“Very true but what if your relationship only grows until then. You both will be in love, and he will find his mate, it's only going to hurt so much more. He must choose his mate. You know what your father did when I first met him, he messed things up and a lot of people got hurt. Do you want to set yourself up for that heart break? Damon’s feelings for you will fade quickly and you will be left with all the pain of watching him with her.” I said.

“I’m almost 18. What if Alena is my mate? The way I feel with her, I’ve never felt before.” Damon asked.

Both Alena and I snapped our heads towards him. That never occurred to me. Having a human mate is rare. Yes, I was human but what are the chances of my daughter having a mate as well?

“We all know that the chances of that are slim. Besides, she is only 15. Also, her dad was in a relationship when he was a teenager. They thought they were mates, the way they felt about each other, the way they connected but it turned out they weren’t, but they still stayed together. When I came into the picture, he couldn’t walk away from her, and it caused a lot of pain.” 

“We both know the risks and yes, hers is bigger than mine but if we still chose to be together then why can’t we?” He asked.

“Damon, my mom is right.” Alena said.

“NO! Alena please don’t do this. I want you. You already feel like you're mine. I can’t go back to you ignoring me. You can’t tell me that when we kissed, you didn’t feel it too!” He yelled.

I could see the desperation in his eyes. He really did have strong feelings for her. He’s not going to stop until she gives in, or Jaxson kills him.

I looked at Alena and she started crying again. She is fighting within herself because she doesn’t know what to do. Damon got on his knees in front of her. He dropped his head on her thighs and wrapped his arms around her waist.  She lifted her hand and put it on my back on his head, running her fingers through his hair.

Right then, I knew exactly what was going to happen. She is already in love with him. There is nothing anyone could do to stop this.  I just hated that I knew my daughter’s future was going to be a broken heart and there was nothing I could do to prevent it.

He lifted his head and crashed his lips on her. That kiss, they showed their feelings through it. I let go of her hand and got up. Once they pulled apart. He sat where I was just sitting, putting his arm around her. She leaned into him.

“Well then, since it looks like you both made your decision, now we have to deal with your father. Let me go talk to him first, I will call you when it's safe for you to come and let's leave the bedroom. Go downstairs and find the others, stay clear of your father and your uncles please.” I said.

I walked out and down the hallway. They were slowly walking behind me. As I got downstairs, I could see the destruction of my husband’s path. He knocked over furniture and punched holes in the walls on the way out to the back porch. There are people running around, cleaning up the mess.  This is going to be fun.
