Her Reign

Chapter 9

 ALENA

My parents have been gone for a couple of days now. It's the first time in a long time that they have left together for more than a night or two but with Aunt Jessica and Uncle Lucas gone as well, things have been a mess.

Yesterday at school, a group of girls started shit with me. The main one is Britney who is basically their leader of the bitch squad. She is a member of my pack and has always given me a hard time. When we were in sixth grade, Britney pushed me when we were in the hallway at school, and I fell on the ground. My books and notebooks flew all over the floor and everyone in the hallway started laughing until I got up and defended myself. After punching her in the face, we ended up on the floor wrestling and I kicked her ass, but I also got into trouble with the school because she wanted to act like an innocent victim and said she accidently knocked me over. That I was always picking on her. My parents kind of yelled at me because they didn't know the whole story and that I should have been the bigger person, but dad fist bumped me after mom stormed out for winning. Being the daughter of the queen, you are held at higher standards.

I'll admit that I do have a bit of a temper and a short fuse, but Britney deserved it.

For years, she has left me alone but since she shifted last year, she thinks she's stronger than me. She has been training and according to my dad, she is a stronger fighter in both human and wolf form. Now she has this group of girls that follow her around like a puppy. They run around school bullying anyone they want and sleeping with most of the guys in school.

Yesterday I was sitting in the cafeteria waiting for my friends to come and the bitch squad came up to me. Britney walked on the opposite side of the table right in front of me. She started talking shit about the usual. How I don't belong here and that I need to leave. When I told her to shut up, she lifted my tray of food and it landed in my lap. Everyone started laughing. I got up and jumped over the table to get in her face, but a teacher grabbed me and broke it up.

She brought me to the office, and they made me sit in there for the rest of the day to cool off. As I was getting ready to walk out, Aunt Emily walked in. They apparently called her and said I was disrupting class and the next time I try to cause a fight; I will be kicked out.

I know they are only pulling this shit because my parents aren't here. Everyone knows they are going to be gone for a while. I'm just grateful that Aunt Emily had my back. She looked over at me and when I shook my head no, she defended me.

With my parents gone, Aunt Emily and Uncle Jake are running the pack. She is usually quiet, but she can have a crazy side when it comes to family. Watching her go off on the principle and seeing the fear in her eyes was great.

As I get ready for school today, I have made up my mind. I'm done taking shit from anyone. If they want to start something with me, bring it on. I take my training very seriously and I'm just as strong as anyone here. I may not have a wolf, but I can still fight and win.

"Alena! Hurry up, you're going to be late for school!" Aunt Emily shouted from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I shouted back.

I grabbed my bag taking one last look in the mirror. I look cute today in my black ripped jeans with a black off the shoulder shirt that cuts off mid stomach, a purple tank top underneath with my black ankle boots. I pulled my hair back in a ponytail and put eyeliner on. I'm not the biggest fan of makeup.

Once I got downstairs, I grabbed my bacon and egg sandwich and headed for the door.

"Bye everyone!" I yelled and followed Uncle Jake outside to the car.
