Summary: SCP-122 is nightlight shaped like a shooting star. When 122 loses power or shuts off, subjects in a 500 meter radius will enter REM sleep until 122 is reactivated. Also when 122 is off, black, translucent humanoids, referred to as 122-1 instances, will manifest in the shadows of affected subjects. 122-1 instances appear to be sentient/sapient, able to copy the forms and physical abilities of the subjects whose shadows they originated from. 122-1 instances will attempt to expose as many people as possible to 122's effects, increasing 122's area of effect in the process. 122-1 instances will also seek out any sleep aids (anything from bedsheets to tranquilizer darts) they can find and use them on effected subjects. When 122 is supplied with power and turned on, subjects in its radius of effect will have their sleep patterns altered. Subjects awaking from REM sleep while in the radius of 122 when it's activated will complain of insomnia and strange dreams. An incident occurred where 11 instances of 122-1 breached containment, causing multiple casualties across the site. 122-1 instances had never shown hostility towards staff members until this incident. The breach was caused by several maintenance personnel tampering with 122's chamber-lock, stating they only did it because a "canary" was preventing them from sleeping, saying it would only let them sleep if they released 122.

Usefulness: Since the sleep only lasts when the nightlight is off, and there's no way a sleeping person could shut off 122, they'd never wake up. So until a way to remotely shut off 122 is found, that doesn't risk a breach of 122-1 instances, 122 is not useful.

Against 682: Sure, 682 would fall asleep, but his 122-1 instance would be a huge problem. Not only would it have all of his physical strength and agility, not to mention the adaptation abilities, but it would have the unquenching desire to force every human it comes across to fall asleep, increasing 122's radius of effect in the process. It's too dangerous and it won't even kill 682.
