Summary: SCP-148 is 120 ingots of anomalous metal. 148 is gray-green with a bluish tinge and reacts chemically with oxygen when in water. 148 has an extremely high melting point and properties similar to platinum. 148 is mostly made of platinum/iridium, as well as several other known/unknown elements. 148 hinders and/or blocks mind-altering effects from SCP creatures/objects, rendering them inert in 148's area of influence. 148 was originally manufactured by Prometheus Labs, professionals in anomalous technology. 148 does not hinder the effects of memetic objects/individuals, as their existence is purely to be mind-altering. Extended exposure to 148 results in subjects communication/language skills deteriorating over time, eventually disappearing completely. No other skills are hindered by exposure to 148. After further testing, it appears that 148 will gain mass by absorbing mind-altering effects, and then expel those effects/lose mass in the span of a few seconds, causing the absorbed effects to be felt by anyone around 148. Cross-testing with other SCPs is currently forbidden. The combined mass of 148 is currently increasing, and should it undergo an event similar to the expulsion event, [REDACTED].

Usefulness: Obviously useful for preventing things like mind control, telekinesis, and hypnosis, but nothing to do with dangerous SCPs.

Against 682: 682 has no mind-altering/memetic effects, so 148 is pretty useless against him.
