KARL POV -

It had been two and a half weeks.

After the incident with his dad, Sapnap became a lot more distant and Quackity was also acting strange. Had I done something wrong? I assumed I had, so I also distanced myself from the pair. Two and a half weeks passed and we hadn't really spoken, we hadn't worked on the project either.

I now sat alone in the middle row of the history classroom, drawing in the corner of my book. For the past two weeks I'd been drawing the same three things, a tiny flame, a swirl and a duck wearing an LAFD beanie. Every so often I would look up and catch the eye of Sapnap who sat in the front row or I'd turn to get something out of my bag and spot Quackity in the back corner.

It was strange how much I missed the two of them. I'd figured out by now that I had a crush on both of them which was slightly terrifying seeing as every relationship I'd ever seen was a two person thing. Even though I'd only talked to them for a day I felt like I'd known them for years and I hated being apart from them.

At lunch, I'd started sitting with George, Dream's boyfriend. We became really good friends and after getting to know each other, I trusted him enough to tell him about my feelings for Sapnap and Quackity. George hadn't been judgemental in the slightest, in fact he'd gotten really excited and decided that he was going to be my wingman.

"Class listen up!" I was sat in yet another painful history class. It was the only one that I shared with both Sapnap and Quackity. The teacher started speaking, snapping me out of my trance and stopping me from staring at Sapnap, completely zoned out.

"Class, your project is due at the end of next week, you will be presenting it as a group and failure to complete the assignment will result in failure of my class,"

A wave of panic swept through me. My group hadn't even started the project yet. We hadn't even spoken to each other for almost a month.

I was extremely panicked for the rest of the class. I really didn't want to fail.

It wasn't long before the bell went and I shakily began to gather up my belongings. I was about to leave when someone stopped in front of me and someone else spoke from behind me.
"You guys can come to my house to do the project if you want," I looked up in shock to see Quackity gathering his things, avoiding eye contact.

Sapnap stood infront of me, also avoiding eye contact.
"Okay, meet you at the gate," Sapnap said before walking out of the room as quickly as he could. I sighed softly and stood up,
"That's nice of you, thank you Quackity," I smiled, trying to catch his eye. It didn't work, Quackity just nodded before hurrying away.

For some reason, as I left the room, I felt like crying. I didn't understand why they were acting like this.

The end of school rolled around very quickly. Before I knew it, George and I were standing at the school gates, making a plan to play Minecraft over the weekend. George was saying something about his new set up when a loud voice interrupted us.
"GEORGIE!" A blur of green clothing rushed past me and lifted George off of the floor. George screeched loudly as Dream held him half a foot above the pavement.

I heard a loud laugh behind me and I turned to see Sapnap making his way over to us.
"DREAM! PUT ME DOWN!" George yelled whilst clinging onto Dream for dear life. Dream let out a soft wheeze, placing George gently on the floor and grinning. "Never do that again, idiot," George warned, walking over to stand next to me.

"Hi Dream," I giggled, brushing my hair out of my face. Dream greeted me warmly as Sapnap came to a stop next to the blond. "Hi Sap," I said softly, smiling. Sapnap gave me an awkward wave and my heart sank. George noticed my reaction and glared at Sapnap,
"You don't have to be an asshole," George remarked. Sapnap looked shocked and slightly embarrassed but was saved the obligation of responding by the arrival of Quackity.

After another awkward greeting, Sapnap, Quackity and I departed from the school and began the walk to Quackity's house.

The whole walk we were silent.

Entering Quackity's house we were silent.

We ended up sitting on Quackity's bedroom floor, still silent.

"Let's just do the fucking project," Sapnap muttered after ten awkward, quiet minutes. Quackity and I nodded and the three of us got to work.

Two hours. Two honking hours. We sat in complete silence, working. By the end of it, I was close to tears. I just wanted to understand what happened between us.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled, breaking the eternal silence. The other two looked up in confusion.
"For what?" Sapnap asked, closing his laptop.
"For whatever I did to make you guys stop talking to me," I said quietly, trying my best not to cry. A look of shock and upset crossed both of their faces and they hurried to hug me.

"No, Karl, it's not your fault. I've distant 'cause I don't want my dad to hurt you. I never wanted to stop talking to you, I just wanted to protect you," Sapnap explained, gently stroking my hair in a comforting way. Quackity hummed in agreement. After a moment we pulled apart and Quackity cleared his throat.

"Guys. I have to tell you something,"

Quackity explained that after I'd left and Sapnap was in the car, Dream had pulled him aside and told him about something called polyamory. He explained that it was when there are more than two people in a relationship at a time. He also explained that he had been distant because he was scared that we would reject this idea. The longer he talked, the more hopeful I became. Maybe there was a way for all three of us to be happy.

"It doesn't work for everyone and it differs in each relationship but, I really really like both of you and I'd be willing to try it out if you guys are," Quackity finished his explanation, avoiding going eye contact with us both. He looked incredibly nervous. Sapnap and I locked eyes, both of us smiling. By the look in his eyes, I was guessing that Sapnap was also up to try it.

We shared a small nod before embracing Quackity, shouting about how we'd love to and how we both felt the same.

As we hugged, I made mental reminder to thank Dream for telling Quackity about polyamory.

I had a good feeling about this relationship.
