TW - swearing, hospitals, mentions of death, fluff

KARL POV -

Sapnap and I sat in the back seat of my mom's car, both of us still in floods of tears. We approached the hospital and I felt my nerves rise. The car came to a stop and we climbed out, I clung onto Sapnap's arm, unable to stop the tears as we walked towards the dreaded doors.

The aftermath of the phone call had been a blur, a blur that involved a lot of crying, I vaguely remembered calling Wilbur before we'd left but that was it. And now here we were, approaching the front desk. My mom stepped forward to do the talking seeing as Sapnap and I were both clinging onto each other, crying.

"Alex Quackity?" She asked, smiling at the receptionist. The receptionist gave my mom the room number and we all piled into the elevator. I texted Wilbur the room number for when he arrived.

We stepped out of the elevator and hurried along the linoleum corridor. I felt my fear rise, I dreaded walking through the door.

Too soon, we were there. We stood outside. My mom said that she was going to get coffee and let us go in alone, it was something we needed to do.

I took a deep breath, lacing my fingers through Sapnap's.

"You ready?" He asked. I chuckled softly and shook my head.
"I'm scared, what if-" I whispered, tears sliding down my face. I couldn't finish my sentence, I didn't know what to expect and I was terrified.

Sapnap squeezed my hand.
"We'll be okay, we've got each other," He gently kissed the beanie on top of my head, smiling, "And we've got him,"

I nodded and we took a deep breath before entering Quackity's room.

I had to hold back even more tears as we saw Quackity. He lay unmoving and lifeless in the hospital bed, he was covered in bruises but all of his blood had been cleaned up. He was hooked up to different drips and monitors and my heart shattered as I realised that the heart monitor next to him was silent.

He had no heart beat.

He was dead.

I let out a grieved whimper, clutching onto Sapnap,
"He's..."
"I know..." We both began sobbing, staring at Quackity. His face was so peaceful, unmoving, lifeless.

We carefully approached him, both of us distraught.
"He's still so hot," Sapnap murmured, attempting a smile, taking one of Quackity's hands and squeezing it gently. I couldn't take it anymore, I hugged Quackity, crying hysterically.

"Please come back to us Quackity! Please! Please come back... we love you..."

Then I felt something shift beneath me.

And someone spoke...

Someone familiar...

"Babe, what the fuck do you mean come back? I haven't gone anywhere. I was napping! Getting almost killed and then having surgery is a tiring experience!"

He was alive! Quackity was alive!

Quackity propped himself up on his elbows, grinning at Sapnap and I who were both stunned.
"But... the heart monitor," I breathed, pointing at the machine. Quackity snorted with laughter,
"They disconnected me from it when I woke up earlier," He explained.
