The boys chuckled at her possessiveness, just for a crush.

Sam works in the HR Department along Shakthi. He always hang outs with them sometimes.They are a gang. Now they are all sitted at Shivanya's living room sipping Hot Chocolate.
Shivanya didn't go to office today as she was not feeling well. She spent most of her time with Chitra ma. She felt much better now, thanks to her friends. Of course the fun banters were missing, but they will be back soon.

"Avaru yepdhi irundhalum, yen kannuku avaru nalla than iruparu. Yaara pathu sirichalum, naa sight adikada poren. Hehehe. " Shivanya said grinning sheepishly with dreamy eyes. Pragi nodded in agreement joining Shivanya. Sam rolled his eyes at the obvious fact.

"About that, Shivanya nalliki office vandha udhane, unakku KOOONNNJAM, I mean konjam shock irrukku," Shakthi told casually

"Yen da?!" Shivanya almost chocked.
Even Pragi and Sam couldn't understand.

"Illa macha, office interior'la konjam changes ellam paniruthangalae, athe sonnen " Shakthi explained
"Ohhhh adhuva, ama ama. Nee kandipa shock ave", both Pragi and Sam chorused. Leaving Shivanya in confusion.

Ashwin and Kathir are deeply focused on their PS5. Out of the blue, they were interrupted by the door bell.

"Psch, Macha yaru paruda," Ashwin told Kathir without breaking his glance from his game.

Kathir was stunned seeing Sathya ma, Teju and her parents in front of Ashwin's doorstep. He welcomed them in. He embarrassely ran to Ashwin's gaming room and put on his T-shirt.

"Yarudaa? " Ashwin asked seeing Kathir in a haste. Before he could answer.

"Ashwin, unga amma ungala kooptanga" Teju came out of nowhere and informed Ashwin and smiled at Kathir. Leaving the boys bewildered.

"Ennama idhellam?" Ashwin asked his mother annoyed.

They were all here to show the engagement ring to the couple. Yes, Ashwin and Teju were getting engaged in two months it seems. But both of them got to know about it, only now. Like 10 minutes ago. Kathir was evidently feeling uncomfortable which didn't slip out of Ashwin's sight. But Ashwin indicated him to stay. Teju was equally bewildered as she had barely spoke more than 30 minutes to Ashwin. They were good friends but this was awkward.

"Yenanna naa yenna solradhu?" Sathya ma asked while handing over the coffee tray to Kathir. Kathir took it from her and headed to the living room, leaving the duo alone. Or more like escaping from them.

"Naa kettena? Yennakku Ippo kalyanam venumnu?"

"few months back, naa alliance pakkuren'u sonapo, OK than a da sonne?"

"Ma adhuku epdiyum time agumnu than na OK solli vittuten! Ipdi already pathu vechirupa'nu expect pannave illa!"

Their trance was broken by a glass breaking sound from the living room. They rushed to see what happened.

"Rest well, Mr. Krishna. Don't strain yourself." the doctor suggested and left.

Krishna uncle had a heart attack. He was resting on the bed beside his wife. Kathir went to send him off.

"Ashwin, inga va pa," Krishna uncle called him. He went and sat beside him on the bed. "Ennakaga onnu seiviya, Ashwin?"

Ashwin knew what was coming next. He prayed to God, wishing it won't happen, but....

"All my life, I've never even spent much time with my Teju. Avale vazhandha, avale vazhura, she had never even used my privileges which is why I really wanted her to be settled well with a good companion. But seems like I don't have much time, I don't wanna waste any either. Adhunala, will you get engaged to my daughter now and we will have your wedding in 2 months?" Krishna uncle asked looking intensely into Ashwin's eyes. He was told that Ashwin has been asked his consent.

Ashwin was in a distressing state. He couldn't say no, this man had helped his family a lot . He looked at Teju for help she was more shocked than him. He looked at his mom, she didn't expect this either but she couldn't even talk back. Everything is dependent on his answer. Taking a deep breath, Without any choices , both Ashwin and Teju nodded.

Kathir's trance was broken by the sight in front of him.

Teju is sliding the ring through Ashwin's finger. He was on the verge of breaking down but controlled himself. Teju then turned and they had an eye contact. Ashwin noticed this and knew what it meant. He was human enough to understand that Teju can't voice out in this moment. Ashwin felt so bad that he couldn't do anything.

What would Kathir think of him?
Would Teju think bad of him?
Is he betraying his friends?

He promised himself that he would do something about this wedding.
He doesn't know how,
but he will.
