Ashwin is seating in front of the ICU ward, as usual. Leaning back on the chair, closing his eyes, resting his head on the wall behind.

There were visible eye bags under his eyes, looking much leaner and tired.

Soon to be dawn on the last day of the one week Shivanya was given. Treatment has been going on full swing from the past hours. Everyone else has went home leaving Ashwin alone since he insisted. They still don't know that Shivanya is undergoing treatment currently.

Ashwin really wishes to be the first and only person she sees when she opens her eyes.

But right now, there are hundreds, millions of thoughts and possibilities running in his mind.

How will I face her?
What will she say?
Will she still be angry with me?
How will I console her?

He thoughts were disrupted by the golden rays of sunlight coming from the direction beside. He slowly opened his eyes looking towards the window that was on the other end. He leisurely walked towards it and watched the sunrise. It reminded him of their first sunrise.
The day they were both woke up after being stuck in their office for a whole night
~
Ashwin lazily opened his eyes being disturbed by the sun rays hitting his face. He slowly came back to his senses and realised that he is sleeping on Shivanya's lap, her hand was still on his hold, clutched close to his chest. He quickly got up without waking her up and looked at her.

She was sleeping like a baby, still holding his hand tightly. The golden rays reflected on her face gave a whole new vibe to Ashwin. He gently tucked the few strands of hair on her face behind her ears and whispered,

Thank you
~
Ashwin was distracted when a nurse tapped on his shoulders, calling him. He wiped his tears,

Sir, doctor kooptanga.

A: 4 hours ah?

Ciara teased him making him rub his nape, blushing.
C: First'uh veetuku poi nalla rest pannitu, fresh vanga. At least for her. You look like you haven't even eaten for ages.

Ashwin sighed in realisation, it's true its been five days since he actually ate properly. He has been living with coffees and pastries now and then.
Ashwin smiled and thanked her wholeheartedly.
As he was about to open the door,

C: Ashwin?
A: Yes Ciara.
C: You were right she really is a strong girl, but lucky too.

After asking for the ward number, Ashwin ran searching for it. Holding a big flower bouquet in his hand. He wasn't patient enough to take the lift so he took the stairs.

He had already called Kathir to make sure that no one is in there right now to have his own time in apologising.

Yenna yennalam panna vendhiyadhu irukku.
Kathir whined

As soon as he reached the ward door, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knows that this is going to be hard.

Ashwin is well aware of Shivanya's stubbornness. He would be so happy If this was one of those situations where he could just buy her an ice cream or make her a cup of coffee to persuade her but it's not. He really has to face the bite sized girls actual wrath now. Not to deny, he was scared of the consequences.

As he twisted the doorknob and pushed it open, He saw Shivanya sitting by leaning on the bed rest.

There was a bandage on her feet and there was a shoulder cast on her left shoulder. She was wearing a hospital robe and her hair was tied up in a loose ponytail.

Shivanya was watching the television until she heard the door opening. She saw Ashwin standing there with a flower bouquet in his hands. She didn't show out any reaction, especially that she has been hoping to see him for the past two hours since she woke up. She just turned back to the TV and pretended to be unbothered.

Ashwin sighed and went in. He stood beside her hoping her to at least look at him.
She slowly turned to looked up at him,
Ashwin smiled and handed her the bouquet,
A: Shivanya ma, na-
S: Thank you sir

Ashwin froze. Shivanya unemotionally took it from him and placed it on the table beside while he stood rooted unable to even breathe when she called him, sir.

S: Ookarunga

Ashwin came back to his senses and sat facing her on the bed avoiding the chair. Shivanya didn't even budge to even look at him since she knew she won't be able to hold on anymore.

A: Enna paaka kooda mattiya?

Ashwin's voice almost broke. She turned to him.
A: I.. I'm sorry
S: Yedhukku?
A: Anniki nadhandha yellathukum, na-
S: It's ok, sir

Ashwin turned to her not knowing how to deal with the way she calls her. He absolutely knows that she is not Okay with it. He shut his eyes in defeat ,

A: Ma, dheivasenju, first apdi koopdhadha.
S: Neenga en MD dhane vera epdhi koopdhanum. There's nothing else.

Ashwin for one moment wished that she was kidding but she was not. She was dead serious. He realised what she meant.
A: Shivanya, avasara padhadha.

Shivanya just looked at him with emotionless eyes that scared him.

At least give us some time. Please ma

Ashwin pleaded holding her hand in his. She couldn't say anything else or she might burst out. She gulped back her tears and just nodded.
S: OK. I need to rest.

She said looking away. Ashwin got up and helped her to lie down. After she closed her eyes, he gently kissed her forehead and whispered,
Everything will be fine, remember?

She opened her eyes to see him smiling widely at her.
He then left after closing the curtains, TV and the lights. Right after he left closing the door behind, Shivanya let out all the tears she's been holding on.
