Ashwin sat on the chair outside the delivery ward, fiddling his fingers nervously. Suddenly, his head turned towards the sound of the door opening. Ashwin got up from the chair,

"Congratulations sir, It's a girl!"

The nurse handed over the baby, which was wrapped in a soft cloth to Ashwin. She fitted just right into his hands as he held her like the most precious thing in the world.

He had happy tears in his eyes as he kissed her forehead before turning to meet Sathya's eyes that were brimming with happy tears too.

Suddenly he turned towards the nurse who was standing admiring them,

Shivanya yepdi irukka?

He asked her tensely, she smiled and replied,

She's fine sir. Avunga baby'ah pathuttu rest panranga, ward'ku shift panna odane poi parunga.

Ashwin muttered her a thanks before handing over the baby to Sathya.

She had her mother's face but her father's catchy brown orbs. The way she held his finger with her whole hand instantly made him realise how much of daddy's princess she was yet to become.

Kathir and Teju both came near Sathya to take a look at the baby. Vishwa climbed up and stood on the chair nearby with his hands on Ashwin's shoulder before waving "hi" at the baby.

Kathir patted Ashwin's shoulder,

K:Macha yenna venalum pannu da, Hindi mattum sollikoodhuturadhe! Aprom namba lam onnuku rendu kittarndhu vangi kattikanum!

Sathya and Teju laughed while Vishwa and Ashwin glared at Kathir,

K: Dei nee en pulla dhana da?!
A: Illa avan en mapillai

Ashwin said before fist bumping with Vishwa. Kathir rolled his eyes before taking his little princess in his hands.

Shivanya slowly opened her heavy eyelids when she felt a soft gentle lips on hers. She found Ashwin sitting on the bed beside her and caressing her knuckles.
Everyone else had left to their houses after promising Ashwin to come back in the morning. Ashwin was stubborn on staying by Shivanya when she wakes up so they could only agree.

The next moment, Ashwin saw her weakly smiling back at him, the first thing he did was to hug her tight without hurting her. Shivanya rested her head on his shoulder before kissing his cheeks.

A: Naa dhan varen'nu sonnenlae? You're just so adamant ma. Raatchasi!

Now he ranted muffling in her shoulder whereas she chuckled and stroked his hair. She pecked his neck before groggily whispering,

We were fine

She knows that he might even have passed out if he accompanied her during labour cause that's how restless and reckless he was.

Ashwin sighed before whining,
A: Do you have any idea how tensed I was?
S: Yellam unnala dhane. Paravala

Ashwin raised his head up to face her with a glare. She chuckled in hooded eyes and kissed his cheek,

Angry bird

Suddenly both of them turned their heads to the direction of this little ball of sunshine who was laying beside Shivanya and stirring in her sleep due to all the exchanging noises from her parents.

Ashwin and Shivanya shushed each other before Ashwin quietly laid beside Shivanya. He pulled her closer to him and kissed her temple. Shivanya had her one hand holding her daughter's tiny palm and the other intertwined with Ashwin's hand that was on her waist.

They both snuggled into each other and stayed quiet watching their new small human that was yet to rule their lives.
As if she could understand their thoughts, the baby girl smiled in her sleep which involuntarily brought a smile to Ashwin and Shivanya's faces before sleep overtook their senses.

This sweet family that was formed by the plays of destiny indulged themselves into their first deep slumber with each other beside before starting their adventures.

__________________________

Her hands tightly wrapped around his waist, her head laid down on his back, the cold wind making her eyes wet.

Shivanya, admiring how the Moon has been following them all the way.
Ashwin, riding his bike like a wizard flying on his Broom.

It all felt too good to be true but this time it was.
Suddenly the bike came to a stop and they both got down.

Shivanya found herself lost in the way her husband combed his hair with his outstretched fingers before he booped her nose bringing her back to her senses. Shivanya scrunched her nose making him chuckle. He leaned closer after putting his arms on her shoulders, he huskily asked
A: Sight adikiriya?

Shivanya shook her head pouting,
A: Aprom yenna yosikiringa madam?
S: Adhu munnadhilam yennaku indha madhiri oru dream varum, but before I see your face I always end up being waken up. Ana Ippo oru valiya pathutten la! Adhan yosichen.

Even though now they were both the parents of a two year old Ashvanya, who seemed to have taken over Ashwin's dominant and Shivanya's vibrant, Ashwin could never get tired of being lost in his wife's innocent way of swaying her hands back and forth when she tells him something.
Nor can she think of stopping when he so attentively listens to her although he doesn't have to but he would.

She slowly brought up her fore finger to her chin looking up,
S: Ana yepdi? oru vela..

Ashwin too joined her thinking session,

Destiny, I guess!
Destiny, I guess!

They giggled at how they simultaneously exclaimed the same thing. They fist bumped before Ashwin intertwined their hands and dragged her ahead as she followed him behind excitedly.

After all it was their fifth wedding anniversary and this time it was Ashwin's turn to surprise her.

It's not like she knows anything about the big comfy tent, fireplace and a perfect setup for stargazing that's waiting for her.
