The rays of sunrise seeped into the room. Ashwin rubbed his bleary eyes and stretched himself when he felt a weight on his chest. He slowly pulled the comforter down to find Shivanya's head on his chest and hands around his waist, hugging him tightly.

He remembered last nights incident on how they fell asleep and blushed. He somehow managed to get up without disturbing her after placing a pillow next to her and tucking the comforter.

He then walked to the thick black curtains and pulled it closer to block the sunlight from coming in the which could disturb her sleep since it was still early.
______

Sathya made her way to the kitchen to see what the maid had made for her but stood stunned at the view ahead of her.

Ashwin was immensely concentrated in his breakfast making business that he didn't even notice a much bewildered Sathya ma who stood behind him.

Sathya very well knows that Ashwin cooks, something he inherited from HIS MOTHER but never in her life did she expected him to actually do it.

Ashwin for the first time after many years, the first person he sincerely and voluntarily prepared a meal for was not even himself but it was for Shivanya, during their old days.

Even Shivanya doesn't knows it.

As Ashwin let out a sigh of relief after finally finishing up on preparing the pancakes. He turned to take the chocolate syrup from the fridge and almost freaked out when he saw Sathya ma clutching her mouth in an attempt to convey her shock. Ashwin breathed out and eyed her a what
Sa: Yennada panra?
A: Breakfast ma
Ashwin answered shrugging his shoulders.
Sa: Adha yendha nee panra? Nee idhellam panuviya?

Ashwin just chuckled much to Sathya's puzzlement.

She then remembered that he wasn't even suppose to be here,
Sa: Iru Iru, oru nimisham, nee yen inga irukka?
A: Naanga vandhuttom
Sa: Naangala?
A: Naanum Shivanya'um dhan.

Adhane pathen
Sa: Yen da?

Just when Ashwin was thinking of how to answer her, he started sneezing continuously covering his mouth. Sathya ran to him,
Sa: Yenda ipdi sneeze pandra?
A: Onnu illama, vara valile mazha adhan
Sa: Ptsch unna!
~

Shivanya felt something soft and warm rubbing her forehead. After a much supposed to be avoided inner battle on whether to wake up or not, Shivanya finally opened her hooded eyes to find Sathya looking back at her with a smile while checking Shivanya's temperature with her palm.

Shivanya jerked and sat up clutching to the comforter. Her doe eyes were blinking in incredulity to have woken up at the sight of a new face.
S: Ma'am!

Sathya's warm-hearted face was immediately took over by a frown. She folded her hands to her chest and glowered at Shivanya making her stutter not knowing how to ease the situation, since Sathya seemed really done this time.

But to her relief Sathya's eyes crinkled in a smile as she chuckled at the bite sized girl wriggling around, frightened by her so called intimidating look. Shivanya finally let out an awkward smile.
Sa: Ippo kai yepdi ma iruku? Malaila vera nezhanjingalame?
S: Ippo konjam paravala

Shivanya answered with a smile as she watched Sathya walk to the curtain before drawing it aside and letting the warmth in.

She could tell that Ashwin had told Sathya about her hand but didn't know how much she knows.

Interrupting them, Ashwin came in holding a mug as he passed a warm grin at Shivanya when he saw her awake which Shivanya reciprocated. She noticed that he looked much better.

A: Ah, finally someone woke up!

Ashwin mocked making Shivanya pout. Sathya chuckled patting Shivanya head and sat beside her.
Ashwin sat on the other side and handed it over her.

Shivanya tried to hold it with both her hands but since her one arm was still not stable, she trembled. But before the cup fell, a big masculine hand caught it and helped her to hold it.
Ashwin wrapped his other arm around her shoulder.

Shivanya felt his touch and narrowed her eyes at him, Ashwin cleared his throat and made a very poor attempt by whispering,
Emergency ma!

But Shivanya was absolutely not ready to buy it. He beamed sheepishly,
Sa: Seri romance pannadhu podhum. Shivanya nee kudi dha

For one moment, Shivanya herself couldn't believe the fact that she was blushing alongside Ashwin.

Shaking her head, she finally closed her eyes to cherish the scent of whatever that was on the mug.

Not to lie, Shivanya really missed Ashwin's cup of coffee being the first token of his love every morning that used to start her day.

But something about this was weird, she shrugged it off thinking that it was just because it's been two years since Ashwin brew coffee for her.

Just at first sip, Shivanya almost choked herself. Sathya patted her back as a bewildered Shivanya scoffed at Ashwin,
S: Yeh kya hai?!
A: Pstch, ayiram vaati sollirken, tamil'la pesunu!
S: Aiyo, yenadhu idhu?!
A: Kashayam ma
S: Kashayam'ah?
Sa: Ama da, malaila vera nezhanjingale, koodi you'll feel better.

Saying that Sathya left the room.

Shivanya was extremely overwhelmed. The last time someone had done this kind of gestures to her was probably years ago but yet she couldn't deny the fact how awful it tasted .
She was suddenly struck by an familiar incident,
#####

Please Ma!
Adhedhan naanum solren, Please Military, Yenaku vendam! It's so bitter!

A young Shivanya whined at her father who has been pleading her for the past twenty minutes to make her drink the Kashayam, Suja ma had prepared to get rid of her cold after playing ball in the rain with him the previous day.
Although the well-built iceberg was already melting into a puddle by his daughters adorable pleading face which exactly resembled his deceased wife, he was in no mind on letting her go.

He took the mug that was bigger than her tiny hands and cheekily whispered to her
~
Ashwin took the mug from Shivanya who was staring at it as if it was some kind of a poison and whispered smiling

Nee padhi, naa padhi. OK?
~
Nee konjam, naa konjam. OK?

Shivanya faintly nodded unable to argue anymore
~
Shivanya nodded when the nostalgia hit her just right

Chandradas slowly sipped the Kashayam before faking a 'super' gesture with his hands making a young Shivanya glare at him
~
Ashwin sipped the Kashayam mentally hoping if it could taste any worse but still had a fake amused smile on his face

Chandradas brought the cup closer to Shivanya as he made her drink it
~
Ashwin brought the mug closer to Shivanya as Ashwin made her drink it

Tears rolled down Shivanya eyes as the bitter liquid touched her throat and her eyes were shooting daggers at Chandradas who was just admiring his little angry bird
~
A lone tear escaped Shivanya's eyes as it locked Ashwin's which was filled with care and love that she could never imagine the depth of. Even the bitterness in her throat felt sweet when he affectionately smiled back at her.
