CHAPTER 27

Avantika parked her car and found Pravi walking back and fro at the hospital entrance. She ran to him, he saw her and caught her. Pravi noticed that Avantika was not looking good at all. In fact she looked pale and sick.
No matter how angry he could be of her, she was also like his sister. He was worried. He held her shoulders as she panted,
Pravi : Kya Hua Avantika? Are you OK?!

Avantika was about to say something until she saw him coming from behind, his eyes were blood shot, they looked menacing. Vexation written all over his face.

Ashwin from behind saw Pravi talking to someone with a familiar face. He remembered seeing her in their office once and even in Kathir's engagement. He just turned to look at her,

Look, that one fiery look, sent shivers through Avantika's spine, making her pass out the next second.

For the first time, Ashwin spoke to Pravisht whom he had helped to admit Avantika.
It appears that Pravi knows Ashwin more than he expected, thanks to Shivanya's four years crush.

P: Yeah, she is our cousin.

Pravi answered and murmured smiling,

That's how Shivanya used to tease her. Ashwin couldn't understand but noticed the tinge of sadness on Pravi's face.

A: They'll be fine.

Ashwin told Pravi, placing his hand on Pravi's shoulder. Suddenly Pravi remembered something,

P: Ashwin, I don't think Shivanya met with an accident. It's not an accident.

Ashwin was shocked to hear Pravisht saying the same thing that was running in his mind.

P: In fact, Avantika wasn't even informed about her accident but she called me unexpectedly and asked me about Shivu. She was clearly panicking. She said that she knows who's behind it and came here to talk about it but.. But she fainted.
A: Yes Pravisht, it is not an accident. In fact I was going out to deal with it too. The truck that banged Shivanya's car didn't even stop. Too deliberate. That bastard came out of nowhere from a one way and banged her. The rain made it wors-

P: You were there?

Ashwin realised that he had blurted out too much. He replied looking away,

A: I, Yes I was

Pravisht noticed his hesitation decided to not ask anything further.

After informing Kathir, they both left to the Police Station that controlled the surveillance cameras there.

Being one of the top bussiness personality in the empire. Ashwin just had to introduce himself to Pravisht's senior advocate through a video call. In no time, they got a call back that they could immediately go to check all the surveillance cameras they wanted. He had arranged everything for them with the help of the police officers he knew there.

Pravisht for the whole time just stared at Ashwin with bewilderment. First of all, he didn't knew that his arrogant senior advocate even knew his name.

Ashwin was driving, there was something troubling his mind, Pravisht was muttering something under his breath.

Whereas Ashwin's thoughts were only about her. Late night drive in this kind of breezy nights used to be their favourite thing. Now he was coming across the same routes with the image of her in that hospital and heavy weight of guilt in his shoulders.

After all this is done, Ashwin just wanted to hug her close to him and never let go.

The footages from a surveillance camera from a nearby bus stop contained everything before the truck came and after the truck came. But nothing in between. Ashwin clenched his fist in anger . Pravi too was frustrated. They managed to mutter a thank you and came out.

They went back to the hospital as Pravi insisted that they continue after dawn. Ashwin agreed as he was already feeling the urge to be with her. At least around her.

Once they arrived Pravisht saw Ashwin walking towards the ICU, almost running actually. He understood and made his way to the private waiting room they were given.
Now he understood why only this bunch of people were treated with such privileges.

Ashwin looked through the round transparent space given on the ICU door. Another few extra medical wires were attached on her. He didn't find the courage to even look clearly at her. His eyes started tearing up in an instant. His mind was sparked by a remembrance,

After a much worse attack, Ashwin was lying on his bed resting his eyes until he heard sobbing sounds nearby. He slowly opened his eyes to find her crying quietly lying next to him hugging his arm. Ashwin's heart softened and he smiled. She had evidently been scared. Ashwin couldn't imagine how hard it is going to be for her to get used to this.
He pulled her closer and made her lye on his right chest.
A: I'm fine ma
She hummed pouting.

A: Unakku ipdi sick agi naa ipdi alandhuttu irundha unnaku pudikuma?
S: Appo ala kooda matingala?
She asked innocently pouting with teary eyes. Ashwin just laughed out loud.

He sat down on a chair nearby and closed his eyes, rubbing his forehead. Suddenly he felt someone tap his shoulder. It was Priya.

"So you're telling me that you are not involved in any of this?"
Ashwin asked her looking straight into her eyes.

Priya has been quenching all her luxurious desires by getting money from Avantika now and then. Even now she came here for it even after Avantika told her that she is in trouble already. She tried to play the threatening card to Avantika until a tight slap landed on her cheeks. When she walked out in furious she saw Ashwin.

She was playing the victim role, telling him that she mistakenly bumped onto Avantika at that time during the fire incident and Avantika is now threatening her because she knows.

She was evidently lying but Ashwin was more concerned about whoever was behind. For whatever reasons, Ashwin felt that this two incidents are connected since Avantika seems to be related in both.

P: Yes sir, moreover she was talking to the CCTV.
A: What?
P: Yes sir, she kept talking to the CCTV and someone was guiding her through call, sir.

Ashwin stopped walking and turned back to her. This means that their security systems were not only jammed but also hacked. Ashwin took a guess who would do this kind of dirty works. He decided to handle it their way. He took out his phone and dialed to his John, his personal bodyguard who handles all of Ashwin's personal affairs.

I need an hacker.
