UNMASKING THE DANCER

40. She knows.

     Diane's pov

   I watched with slightly open jaws as Selene approached me with predatory walks and a mischievous smile on her face. She looked quite scary in her black look of leather pants and tank top and she looked like she knew something. Her next words confirm it,

    "Wow, I never thought I would be meeting the starlit band's dancer here when she's supposed to be.....where is that....oh!....Canada right?"

    "I don't know what you're talking about" I state and made to move pass her in a bid to hide my nervousness but she stepped to my front, making me pause,

   "Are you really going to play the ignorant here?..... I heard your conversation...."

     Pushing back my nervousness, I stared right into her mischievous brown eyes and said slowly, "as I said I don't know what you're talking about, so if you would please excuse me, I have a class to attend"

     I made to walk past her again and she let me to go but on getting to the door, she stopped me with her statement, "I don't think you would want the whole world to see you walking out of krish's beauty place after getting a makeover, would you?"

    Whipping around quickly, I stomp towards her, "what are you talking about?"

    "So now you want to know what I'm talking about, I thought you said you didn't know what I was talking about?"

    "Which pictures?" I asked ignoring her taunt and she brought out her phone to show me pictures of me and Mr Jon going in and out of krish's place when I first got to New York,

   "H-how did you get this, I didn't even know you then"

    "Yeah, I guess it's luck that made me take the picture that day so it could be useful to me now"

     Sighing dejectedly, I muttered, "what do you want?",

    "I want you to stop seeing Ryan!"

    "What?" I ask my gaze turning sharp,

     "Stop seeing Ryan"

     "But why?"

      "Are you seriously asking me that question?. I've been after that guy for almost a year now and you think I'll let some band dancer steal him away from me?"

     "But he has said that he doesn't like you"

    "Shut up or i'll upload these pictures now.... Does he even know you're living a double life?"

     I look away at that and she smirks, "guess I'll tell him first before letting the world know. If you don't want that, break all ties with him period!"

      Hitting me with her shoulder, she walked past me and out the restroom door leaving me both devastated and confused. How in the world did she get those pictures?

     Maybe that's why she was exceptionally calm earlier... What was I going to do now?.

    Leaning against the wall, I slide down to sit on the floor and decided that going for my next lecture would only give me more headache, so I stayed there for the next one hour thinking about my life decisions.

     I made my way back into the hallways after that hour to see Jade pacing around with a worried look on her face. On sighting me, she hurried over and asked, "what happened?, You didn't come for history"

    "Yeah.."

    "Taken aback by my response, she became more worried, "what's the matter Diane?"

      I still don't reply but at that moment Selene walks by sending a smirk my way and I look down which Jade notices,

    "Wait a minute......does whatever is bothering you concern Selene?"

     I give a slight nod and she makes to go after the said person but I stop her halfway, "what are you doing?" I muttered alarmed and she gives me the 'it's obvious' look,

    "Going after the bitch that's giving my best friend a hard time"

    "Leave her for now, we have a lot to think of"

     "What's that?"

     "I'll tell you but let's get Catlyn first so we can give this a thought together"

     "Fine, where could she be?"

      "I don't know too, let's just look through the classrooms"

     "Okay"

    And with that we move through the halls, searching for our dearest friend and we soon found her not in the classroom, but in the music room with...........Accee!.

      "What the f*ck!" Jade exclaims taking the words out of my mouth as we stared at them.

    They were sitting in front of the piano with ace holding a guitar and Catlyn staring at him dreamily but that wasn't what was surprising. What was actually surprising was how they were staring into each other's eyes......., it looked like they were about to........

    The sound of something hitting the floor made them jolt back and I only realised it was my pen when they both turned to stare at us, a flustered expression on their face.

     "Diannee" she drawed out nervously but I was too stunned to speak. Jade was similarly stunned and couldn't say anything but I came out of my stunned state quickly,

    "Uhmm, we uhmm just came to get you"

     Standing up immediately with still flushing cheeks, she came out the slightly opened door where we had been watching them and replied rather loudly, "sure, let's go"

     She then took our hands and dragged us away from the music room quickly too, "you guys could do without the stunned looks" she muttered nervously when we got a good deal away from the music room,

    "W-where y-ou guys just about to K-kiss?!" Jade exclaimed as she came out of her stunned state, making the few students around us stare at her,

    "No!, He was just uhmm getting S-something out my hair"

    "Wow, I didn't know you could do that with lips so close" I say sarcastically and she punched my arm for the third time that day, making me wince. Was I the one who told her to have a crush, why was I he one taking the brunt of it?,

     "You're going to tell us how you guys skyrocketed from nervous greetings to almost lip touchings but not before Diane tells us what is between her and Selene" Jade states and Catlyn perked up,

    "What's between them?" She asked, a mixture of excitement and worry on her face and Jade shrugs,

    "We're about to find out, what's between you two?" She asks in my direction and I direct them into the empty lecture room behind us before pouring out my meeting with Selene in the restroom.

     They both had wide eyes after my story, "she has pictures of you coming and going out of krish's place?",

     "Yeah"

     "But who is Krish?" Catlyn asks,

     "That's a story for another day. For now, what am I to do about Selene?"

    "To be sincere, I've got no idea",

    "What of you Jade?" I ask and she sighs,

    "No idea too, I guess we'll just have to see how things unfold",

    "We've got your back though, whatever happens" Catlyn says and I smile.
