UNMASKING THE DANCER

46. Together again.

Two weeks later,

Diane's pov,

"Mom, have you heard from Jade or Catlyn today?",

We were seated in the living of our house which we got back and I sat on the couch beside her,

"No.. why?, Didn't you guys meet yesterday?",

"No, I haven't heard from them since we finished our semester exams two days ago",

"Oh.. what are you going to do now?",

"I don't know... probably go to their house later today",

"Okay, let's eat then. I made your favourite dish of chicken and was waiting for you to come down",

"Really?",

"Hmm hmm",

We headed into the kitchen in order to set the dining table and after doing all that, we sat at the table to a delicious meal of chicken and other side dishes,

"Wow, you must have spent a lot of time cooking while I was away uh?" I said teasingly as we ate and she smiled,

"Of course, that was my comfort zone while you were away so I wouldn't miss you",

"Hmm, I can see it paid off cause this meal of heavenly",

Chuckling, she replied, "I guess so",

We continued the rest of our meal chatting lightly and reminiscing old times and by the time we were done, a lot of time had passed, so I stood up,

"I'll help in taking care of the dishes",

"Really, I thought you had to meet Jade and Catlyn?",

"It can wait, I've missed doing it together",

Smiling, she stood up too, "I missed it too, let's go",

We packed the used plates into the kitchen to wash and while doing that, we talked,

"Diane, I know I should probably not get into this but I haven't been seeing you and Ryan together, is everything okay between you both?",

"Of course, everything is okay, it's just that we've both been busy reading for the exams and preparing for the new music video, so we couldn't meet much",

"Oh... Okay",

"But.. why do you think I and Ryan should be together?... It's not like anything is between us...",

"Really Diane... I know you guys are dating..",

"Mum!"

She chuckled at my expression.

"Finally, you guys are together" I announced on entering into Donnakins where Catlyn got a waiting job days ago. Her and Jade sat huddled at a table whispering something and immediately startled on my entrance,

"Diane!" They both said and I smiled menacingly,

"Why... surprised to see me?",

They immediately straightened once I sat beside them and started stammering,

"N-no, uhm we w-were just talk-",

"On what? I immediately interrupted and Catlyn stood up,
"I have to get back to work, uh.. see you", and then she scurried away,

"I too have to be somewhere, see you" she said standing up to scurry away and I dropped the menacing look,

"Come on you guys, you guys have ditched me since we finished our exams two days ago, whyyyy?",
