UNMASKING THE DANCER

39. Entertainment gossip.

I read through the latest entertainment gossip on my phone that morning as we walked down the hallways of Everett's college. It was an article about me and Ryan dating and the picture of us kissing sat under the headline looking cliche,

"You have to stop reading that article or you'll make yourself go crazy" Jade said beside me and I sighed,

"I know alright but what am I supposed to do, I haven't heard anything from Mr Jon and that is just making me more worried"

"I'm sure he'll contact you soon"

"Yeah and I hope my head remains the same after he does that" i replied making Jade chuckle,

"You know you're not in the wrong for kissing him, right?" Catlyn speaks up beside us and I nod,

"I know but his fans may not think that way"

"Who cares...... Just cheer up okay"

"I'll try my best"

We continue on our way admist the other students in the hallway when a high pitched voice sounded behind us, "coming through!"

We turned around to see who it was only for Selene to pass in between the space we created, making us stare after her, "what was that for?" I muttered and looked at my two best friends only to see Catlyn with wide eyes and open jaw,

"S-selene att-ends this c-ollege?!" She stuttered and I nod,

"Yeah, I didn't mention it?"

"No... you didn't"

"Oh maybe that's because you were always asking about Ace and how you could get close up photos of him"

"Ouch!" I winced as her hand came in contact with my arm making a loud sound while Jade laughed

"I didn't know you had a crush on Ace" she said and Catlyn flustered,

"No I...."

"Who has a crush on Ace?" A familiar voice suddenly asks and we look up to see the band approaching us,

"Oh it's....." I start to say when a certain someone steps on my toe making me shut up with a wince,

"It's no one" Catlyn quickly answered while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Right, Ace is here.

"Wow Catlyn, I didn't know you attend this college" he says in her direction and I saw the blood rush to her cheeks under his gaze,

"Uhmm, I'm not a student. I just wanted to see Diane's favourite college" she replied with a shy smile and I was sure that everyone noticed their sizzling chemistry,

"Hmm that's good, see you around"

"Yeah"

He gave her a wink as they passed making her blush the more and I sighed, "hmm, am I the only one noticing some chemistry here?" I ask out loud once the band were out of sight and she hit me on my arm for the second time,

"Hey!" I exclaim while Jade chuckled

"You're not the only one dear" she replied making Catlyn give us both a glare,

"I think you both have a lecture now, so scram" she says and turned, walking away from us,

"Don't get lost" I call after her and she shrugs,

"Let's go" I say to Jade and we headed to the lecture room for English 101. The room was already filled with students and we had a hard time getting a seat but we finally got seats at the back and settled down.

"Phew!" Jade sighs dramatically as we settle down and I rolled my eyes,

"Why are you sighing?" I asked,

"Well I'm grateful we won't be standing throughout the lectures"

"You know that's not possible"

"Whatever"

She brings out her textbook and I follow suit before looking around for Ryan. He was sitting down two rows before us and was looking quite calm considering the news about him and Kamilah.

Selene was also looking surprisingly calm with earphones on and phone in hand until the lecturer came in making her put them away, "isn't it surprising how calm Selene looks?" I whisper to Jade and she shrugs,

"Maybe she has an evil plan up her sleeves" she replied with a fake shudder and I roll my eyes,

"You're being dramatic"

"Whatever"

We became quiet as the lecture started and listened as much as we could without falling asleep. Well I tried but Jade didn't have that much success. She fell asleep thirty minutes into the lecture and after the lecture was done, I tapped her awake,

"Wake up sleepy head"

"A-re we d-one?"

"Yup and the class is almost empty"

"Ugh!, Let's go"

We grab our bags and was about leaving when my phone rang. I fished it out of my leather pants to see the caller ID as Mr Jon, "oh no!, He's calling"

"Who?"

"Mr Jon"

"Don't worry, he wouldn't yell much, just keep the phone from your ear for the first two minutes"

"Hahaha, you're really funny right now"

"Okay sorry, wish you the best of luck"

"Whatever, I'll be right back"

And with that I hurried out of the lecture room and entered into the nearest restroom to find it empty.

"Okay, here we go" I mutter to myself before picking the call,

"Hello Mr Jon",

"Hey......... I saw the news....."

"Uhmm yeah....... I don't know if this would cause any trouble for the band or if the company would blame you for this but I'm sorry for everything and would do anything to remedy things" I ranted off immediately,

"Really........ are you sorry for kissing him.... or the reporter getting a photo of you both kissing,

"Well, I guess the latter"

"Thought as much, so what are you going to do about him and the secret?"

"I've decided to tell him about my being Kamilah after our first date so I'll at least have the memory of that if things go sour"

"That sounds good, wish you good luck"

"Thanks but uhmm...... aren't you mad at us"

"Oh I've yelled at Ryan since he should know better but don't mind the news or gossip, just have fun"

"Thank you Mr Jon"

"And try not to get lynched by his female fans" he said making me chuckle and I nodded even if he couldn't have seen me,

"I'll try my best"

"Bye"

"Bye"

The line cut and I leaned against the wash hand basin in front of the large mirror to sigh, "that went better than I expected"

"I agree" a voice replied from one of the stalls and it opened to show Selene,
