UNMASKING THE DANCER

15. Kamilah again.

Diane's pov

The other line rang continuously as I brought out a luggage bag from inside my closet that afternoon. It was quite a small luggage bag but it should contain everything I would be needing for a week. I placed it on my bed and started bringing out clothes from the closet when a voice suddenly sounded through the line,

"Hello!",

Moving quickly to where my phone sat on the dresser, I picked it up and put it to my ear,

"Hey Catlyn, how are you doing?" I asked and a loud gasp echoed through the line,

"Oh my gosh!, Diane is that you?!" She asked making me chuckle,

"Of course, who else?"

"Oh my!, I'm so happy to hear from you. It feels like a year since I talked to you even though it's only two months",

"Yeah, I feel the same. I've been so busy with blending in this new life and I forgot to call you",

"I understand. So how has it been?" She asked and I sat on the bed,

"Well quite hectic but fun. The band were welcoming and guess what???",

"What?" She asked her voice sounding eager with anticipated gossip,

"You wouldn't believe that they attend the same college with me!",

"You don't mean it?",

"I do and gosh, it's been so hard knowing that I know them and worrying if they would recognize me any time",

"Well they haven't recognized you so, maybe they wouldn't",

"I hope so",

"So do you have any pictures of them?" She suddenly asked and a smile stretched on my face,

"I was wondering when you would ask",

"Duh!, Do you?",

"I have some from California and guess what I have single photos of Ace too",

"Oh my!, You don't mean it, send it now",

"But I thought you said I don't mean it?",

"Whatever, I'm expecting the pictures",

"Okay",

"I have to go now, I can see Mr Daniels staring at me with suspicious eyes",

"Mr Daniels?, Do you now do day shift?",

"Yeah....shit I have to go, he's coming now",

Before I could reply, the line went dead and I dropped the phone on the bed, it was nice talking to her.

I picked up the phone few moments later and dialed another number, "hello Jade" I said into the phone once she picked up,

"Kamilah wassup?",

"I'm good......uhmm, so I called to tell you something",

"Okay and what is that?",

"I need to travel out of the country for a whole week",

"What?!" She yelled and I winced,

"What of school and dance?" She asked before I could say anything,

"Uhmm, I would catch up once I get back but I really have to go",

She went silent for a few moments before, "okay but please stay safe and get your ass back here soon",
