chapter fifty five:
a european thanksgiving

"SO WHERE IS KLAUS?" Hayley asked.

"When I told him about Rebekah, he said he'd pursue another lead." Freya sighed, leaning over her table in the bell tower.

"He's going to kill people." Leviana said simply, slicing her hand with a knife over a bowl.

"Forget Niklaus." Elijah said, slicing his hand with a different knife over a bowl before he wiped his hand with a handkerchief. He handed Freya the bowl, "you will find her."

"Are you sure you got enough juju for a worldwide locator spell?" Marcel asked.

"She's my family." Freya immediately shot back. "I won't lose her. And if I can't do it, I'll channel Leviana."

Freya began to chant while pouring Elijah and Leviana's blood on the world map. They waited for the blood to point to a certain area, but all it did was expand.

"So much for witch GPS." Hayley sighed.

"I assumed that they'd cloak her." Freya shook her head. "I didn't expect a spell this strong."

"So channel—"

"It's not that I'm not strong enough," Freya interrupted Marcel. "It's the spell it's strong."

"No doubt conjured by the very witch who lured Rebekah into this trap." Elijah added.

"You all should go. I have my work cut out for me." She sat down in defeat.

"The Strix trust me." Marcel chimed in, "if they know where Rebekah is, I can find her."

"We don't have time, Marcel." Leviana said. "What makes you think they'll even tell you, given the fact that you have a very long and complicated history with us?"

"Because I passed their ridiculous test."

"You need to stop Davina from activating Lucien and Tristan's weapon." Elijah said sternly.

"We need to find Rebekah." Marcel shot back.

"Marcel, I will not rest until my sister is found." Elijah assured him.

"All right. Fine." Marcel nodded with a glare. "I'll handle Davina." With that, he walked out of the tower.

"Well, in the meantime, please tell me that we're going to kill someone." Hayley spoke.
