Dayton sat back and watched as his brother finished.
Even her moans are annoying. He thought as Salim pulled out of the now sleeping Jenna. He promised that he would try with Jenna after Carrie had ditched them and ran away. But Dayton felt awful. He gave his virginity to someone that meant nothing to him.
Going to sit next to his brother on the sleeper couch in the corner of the room, Salim grinned at Dayton, satisfied. Though his wolf, Blake, would nag him constantly, Salim learned to block him out. Now whenever he was with Jenna, his wolf simply fell silent. In time, after Jenna was marked and pregnant with his pup, Blake would accept that he had made the best decision for them. But seeing Dayton's face now, he knew that his brother didn't share his optimism.
Dayton stood up and left. He walked out of the apartment that Erik, the Alpha of the Cedar Pine Pack and their brother's best friend, had arranged for them. He felt lost and alone. His wolf refused to talk to him, other than to make him feel guilty because their mate would know what they had done. He walked for over an hour.
When Salim finally caught up to him. Dayton made his decision. Not having to say anything, the twins already knew how the other felt. Salim sighed.
"Jenna and I will be coming as soon as she's packed."
Dayton only nodded not bothering to argue further. They walked back in silence. Dayton gathered his clothes and took the car they came in. Salim would drive Jenna's car to Cub Creek. If Carrie never accepted him then Dayton wouldn't want to be with anyone else. He would try to talk to her and find out how she felt. She couldn't avoid him forever.

The dinner lasted almost five hours and Dameon was bored out of his mind. He was given a clipboard with a picture, description, and a blank section that he assumed was intended for him to take notes on. Instead he was playing fill in the lines. Unlike him, Hadassah was faithfully taking notes on each candidate. Next time he was forced to do this, he would make sure that Ruby and her mate were around to keep him entertained.
Ruby and her grandfather, Dr. Peter Myers, were the only survivors of what had been his father's Rogue Ranch in New Mexico. The attack by Prince Grim was brutal and he lost his mate, Tiffany. He almost died as well but Doc saved his life and Ruby helped restore his sanity. Though she had been offered many times to join various packs, Ruby insisted on remaining a rogue. "Like her big brother," as she was fond of saying.
Her mate was Galen, who had the distinct title of "The Heartless Healer" due to the lack of a heartbeat. So unnecessary but the author thought it sounded good at the time.
Now sitting in his office nursing a glass of highly coveted "Alpha Down." Dameon was trying to find the motivation to look through footage of the possible sightings of his half-sister's rapists. During the attack on the Werewolf Council, a couple of guards, hired by the traitor, York Standish, had beaten Maria and her mate, Solomon Grey. The guards proceed to rape her and now they were out there free while his sister lives with her mental scars.
