Author's Note: Decided to add in this last part of Eesha's story because I'm a nice person ;P
CHAPTER 26
Final Flashback/Backstory...
The dark cloud poured out their rains on the green canopy as thunder rumbled and lightning flashed. The sounds of nature could not cover the screams of the dying or the cries of the wounded. Alpha Dinesh held the lines against the waves of vampires that attacked. He was curious about the glowing necklaces around their neck but a battle setting was hardly the place to conduct experiments. He was a man of scientific curiosity and preferred his studies to being an Alpha. But when his son, whom he had turned the Alphaship to two decades before, was kidnapped a few weeks ago. There was no one to lead since Dinesh's only grandson was a mere child.
Turning his head heavenward, Alpha Dinesh was thankful that the rain, for now, had stopped. Nature had served his purpose. He had strategically placed his men at the top of a bowl so the enemy would have to climb to reach them. The struggle was made more difficult because of the slippery muddy bank.
Standing from the log, where he had taken a small break, he called encouragement to his men. Drawing out his curved sword he rejoined the fight.

Darius Manassah and his men slipped into Athailah's palace unseen and unnoticed. Taking out all the guards, they worked quickly knowing that it was just a matter of time before the alarm sounded. Staying to the shadows, they bypassed the servants carrying out their duties. Thanks to the queen's consort, Felix, they had a map to go by.
A spy in the palace informed him of Felix's execution but said that neither the consort nor his bodyguard revealed any knowledge concerning their involvement with the plot to overthrow the rogue queen. Deciding to stick with the plan they rushed quickly to the queen's chambers killing the guards outside.
Darius halted abruptly in shock as soon as they entered the room. The sight that greeted them revolted him.
The queen lay on her bed with four naked young boys, the oldest could not have been older than nine or ten. The youngest was around four or five and he sat at the foot of the bed with his thumb in his mouth silently crying while watching the events unfold. The other boys were pleasuring their mistress while a fifth child lay pale and unmoving on the floor, his throat and upper body coated with blood.
"Get these children out of here." he commanded as the queen sat up with a gasp.
"HOW DARE YOU BARGE INTO MY CHAMBERS! GUARDS! GUARDS!"
"Shut up." Darius growled. He waited until the boys were carried out of the room. "It's a pity that I can't prolong your death."
With a high pitch whistle, two dogs bounded into the room on silent paws. Pointing to the bed, Darius commanded, "Kill."
The queen screamed as the dogs leaped onto the bed and began ripping the vampire apart limb by limb. When the screams stopped, Darius whistled again and the blood coated dogs returned to their master's side licking their chops.
"Good boys." he praised as he walked to the crimson heap that laid on the torn mattress. Lifting his sword Darius severed the woman's head from her body.
-----------------
Alpha Dinesh ordered his men to cease. The vampire's neck bands had stopped glowing and the vampires backed down, returning to their human form. Some threw their hands up in surrender. A chilling scream caught his attention. He walked over to where a woman knelt on the soggy ground soaked with rain and blood. He was shocked to see a female on the battlefield.
The grief he saw her dark eyes was haunting. She pleaded to die. Begging for the life of her brothers. Her keening wails washed over the men freezing them. No one knew what to do or how to console her. Alpha Dinesh wrapped his arms around the weeping form pulling her to his chest. His wolf whined and purred trying to offer comfort to this broken creature.
The vampires around them ripped the collars from their necks. One knelt before the Alpha and explained what had happened to them. Alpha Dinesh ordered his men to take the vampires back to the city and secure it. Then they were to find his son. He would gather with the other Alphas later to discuss what would happen next.
As for the woman in his arms, he didn't know her story but he accepted the responsibility for her. As far as he was concerned the Creator had gifted him with another daughter and he would give her the family she had lost.
End of Flashback/Backstory...
Now the Necromancer had vampires at his beck and call. Eesha became angry that her fellow vampires were forced into slavery. She did not suffer all that tragedy to destroy those damn collars only for them to be used now. Not all rogues were evil but when treated like animals then they become animals. She knew several of the vampires here and it made her angry that they were left unprotected.
She had heard that a werewolf rogue king was said to be protecting vampires as well. If this is what he calls protection then he would die. She had no tolerance for incompetent leaders. The High Council was supposed to have destroyed all the knowledge regarding the collars. She would have a bone to pick with them later right now she had more pressing issues to deal with.
Watching from the shadows as the reanimated dead dropped the cage. They walked to a heavy silver door that led into a freezer. Eesha could see several corpses stacked inside. Reaching into her pocket she fingered the Grasp that lay within. Grasps were ancient talismans that could render a Sprite helpless, making him or her vulnerable. The High Council agreed to ban the Grasp and only the Sprite Queen could grant permission for their use. This particular artifact came into Eesha's possession many centuries ago.
As a rogue she didn't have to report anything she owned. Most items were hidden or appeared insignificant unless you knew what you were looking for. This small trinket would give her the advantage. The Necromancer, Absalom Green, was a Dark Fairy and this Grasp would strip him of his powers in case he had more bodies inside.
She waited until her companions were dragged away and the area was cleared before she dropped down from her perch. Going to the metal door she cautiously peered inside. The bodies were as still as death and frozen in place. Pulling the slightly curved sword from its sheath that was strapped to her back, she quickly removed the heads, and locked them in an empty cooler before throwing away the key.
Taking a deep breath she made her way to a side window. It was time to end this.
===========================
I'm a little nervous for Dameon. Eesha doesn't seem like the type to play around.
In case you were wondering, yes the Darius mentioned in this chapter is Prince Grim's father. When first introduced, it was mentioned that Darius had been to India before. The Vampire Council had sent him to clear up things with the rogues and for a short time he served as king until a coven could be established.
Another clarification that I need to add in. Vampire government has changed throughout time. Before they had "kings" to rule over certain areas. As human migrations and interactions changed. The Council began to establish Covens which were lead by Coven Heads instead of kings. Now there is one High King, Royals, and Coven Heads. Hopefully this made some sort of sense.
I forgot to add in pictures (not that they're really necessary since you can picture whomever you like) to chapters 24 and 25. I've updated them so if you want you can go back.
