Athens was worried for his daughter. Shula's link was blocked and according to GinGin, an All-Around Sprite who was a caretaker for the sacred site near Cub Creek, she might have been kidnapped around the same time as a young fox shifter.
The fox shifter, Aysa, had been held captive by Athens' sick and twisted brother, Absalom, for years. Fearing the worst, Athens went into the lower dungeons where Shula's mother, Evanora, was being held.
During the time of Ivory White, Absalom found his Other Half. She was an Enchantress. Using spells and potions created by the Supreme Witch herself, Evanora was able to fool Athens, King of the Dark Fairies, into believing that she was his Queen.
The ruse worked for a short time. Absalom impregnated Evanora and passed the child off as his brother's. Not wanting to fall under Ivory White's cruel rule and at war with the Sprites over accusations of murder of the Sprite King, Athens joined the rebellion and lost everything. He hid himself and his niece/daughter, Shula, from the supernatural world. The last of a once great civilization.
It wasn't until the demon, Atticus, brought the Sprite Queen, Rosa, and him to Makan Alraghba "The Place of Wanting" that Athens had suspicions were confirmed. Evanora was never his Other Half. Rosa was. He was happy to have gained his true Other Half and Shula, no matter who her parents were, would always be his Little Flame.
Now she was missing and there would be hell to pay.
Evanore was singing a bawdy tavern song as he descended. Stopping in front of her cell she smirked lewdly at him.
"Hello my love. Come for a tumble?"
"Where is my daughter?"
The woman snorted. "Don't know. Don't care. Would have aborted the bitch if my queen hadn't told me to keep the little bastard as insurance."
Athens was thankful that the bars kept him from reaching her otherwise he would have murdered his ex-wife before he could get information. Calling the guards, he had them chain her in the interrogation room. They secured her to an upright table using the Cuffs of Chagag, shackles created by the wizard, Haggai, to prevent the wearer from using magic.
Evanora struggled a bit against the binding but ceased when she saw that they wouldn't budge.

"So now what?" she snarked.
"So now you give the information I want or this will be a very long drawn out execution."
"This is the Sprite Kingdom. You have no authority here." she laughed.
Athens mouth curved into a cruel smile. "As king of all Sprite and Fairy Kinds. I am well within my rights."
