DESCR...
When given power, no one ever explained how lonely it is. When given a privilege, no one ever explained the responsibility. When you sell your soul, no ever explained the cold. Ameqran shivered and shook trying to warm himself. The voices in his head screamed, "Unworthy!" His heart constantly pinged an echoey sound. He killed his own brother to have the ability to heal. Now he couldn't save himself from the madness.
"Healer!" A man's voice yelled.
Ameqran stood shakily and walked down the steps. He never heard a reply from his mother. He saw a strange look on her face when he showed her his new gift.
"She must be proud of me." He thought. "She prepared me for the moment I would receive her gift that my brother stole. He didn't deserve it. I am the eldest! It was mine by right!"
"Unworthy..."the strange voices whispered.
Ameqran sneered.
"HEALER!" the man's voice shouted.
"I'm coming!" Ameqran yelled back.
The irate wizard glared at Ameqran. Walking to the couch where Lady Melanie was laid, he placed his hands on her chest. The power surged forward but the damage done by magic took far longer to heal. Three hours later and the witch sat up coughing.
"I will kill that bitch!" she screamed.
The front door of the pack house opened and Prince Grim stumbled in.
"My Love!" Lady Melanie cried rushing to his side. The wizard caught the former prince and set him on the couch.
Yanking the Healer forward, the Wizard demanded him to heal the general. Ameqran snarled at the man and Melanie backhanded him. "Do as your told!" she screamed.
Ameqran complied begrudgingly.
"Leave us." Prince Grim commanded.
Ameqran ambled away. Walking up the steps he went to his room and once again tried to call his mother. There was still no answer. Enraged he shoved the items off his desk. Refusing to stay alone with only the voices in his head, Ameqran crept down the steps.
The vampire was recounting a fight that Ameqran could less about. The coldness in the Prince's eyes made Ameqran shiver harder as Grim declared their mission a success. Going down into the basement the faux healer passed cells that contained the former Alpha and her family, the Beta family, and those that refused to serve the new Alpha.
The last cell was dark. He could barely make out the body that lay on the bed. The voices screamed louder and louder in his head. He covered his ears but could still hear them.
"Unworthy! Unworthy! UNWORTHY!"
"I WON!" Ameqran screamed out loud. "DO YOU HEAR ME?! I WON!"
The figure in darkness sat up slowly. Ameqran could not make out his face but heard his voice speak after such a long silence. "Then enjoy your prize... brother."
==========================
This was another huge back and forth that I was trying to decide upon. Oh well, I can always kill Galen later... wow I sound heartless.
I finished writing this book last night on 4/20/2022... ooo look I made a meme instead of editing and publishing like I should have. :D
