CHAPTER 58
Location Unknown...
York Standish took a deep breath satisfied with how the new suit looked as the tailor cut a piece of hanging thread. That Tori witch worked wonders with potions. He was able to take a small amount and his wolf would have amnesia. A beautiful thing ever since he had murdered his own mate in cold blood. He needed his wolf's power and was grateful that now he didn't have to worry about the pain. Killing Sylvia, his mate, had been the best decision he could have made. She was a weakness and would never have been strong enough to do everything necessary to ensure the rise of the Queen Supreme.

"You look very bespoke, Sir!" the tailor complimented.
Standish turned one way then the other. His eyes traveled to his face. Long gone was his youth but he still didn't look bad for his age. He thought vainly. Taking a deep breath, he allowed himself a rare smile.
Soon. He thought. Very soon. I will be immortal.

Cub Creek Territory...
The veteran warriors groaned in pain as they lay in whatever spot they managed to crawl to. Rixa's kamas dripped with blood as she smirked at the disabled wolves. Her demonic self craved violence and destruction but she also found satisfaction in teaching others to provide her with a challenge. A good fight was like good sex. If it isn't rough then it isn't fun.
Rixa smirked. "See you all tomorrow." She called out.
Some of the seasoned wolves actually started crying.
Walking to the Omega training grounds, she rubbed her hands in anticipation. Going against the warriors was fun but the weaker wolves actually held up well. They worked beautifully as a group and what they lacked in brawn they made up for in strategy.
Rixa pushed their limits but had to be carefully not to hit them too hard because they were not physically tough like the warriors. It did surprise her that the Omegas that could take a hit were able to get back up repeatedly.
The Omegas saw her coming and unlike the whiny baby warriors they walked up to her excitedly. "We have something new to try. We'll take you down this time." Alyssa said. After her mate died in battle, when Grim opened a portal near Cub Creek, Alyssa threw herself into training. Lenny was one of the first to sign up for former Lunas Tracy and Carla's program to train Omegas for battle in order to gain equal rights with other pack members.
After the battle that had claimed several lives, including Alpha Jack and Luna Carla Mason, the current Alphas and pack acknowledged the Omegas played a key part in keeping the monsters at bay. Everyone trained harder and the Omegas were all about fighting smarter not harder.
Rixa hummed. "Umhmm... We'll see."
-----------------
Iena turned when she heard Rixa screech. Her fellow demon was trapped under a net making her kamas useless. Shaking her head, Iena went back to watching Neil and Lona face off while Oscar and Danny stood next to Aurora and Skylar. The Hunters made use of their time training the younger Born Hunters in their given field. The compromised training grounds at the Cradle of Life has forced the group to figure out a different means of training. Though Lona was at a severe disadvantage, Roger insisted that she trained with the boys and it gave them the opportunity to practice defense.
The fact that the Hunters would possibly be fighting off against other Hunters, who hadn't been taught honor and the old ways, worried everyone. Tracy planned to inform the High Council in person right after the ball. For now, they kept the peace and didn't let anyone know that they knew of the Hunter's Council's treachery.

LaRosse...
Alphonse Goode had served the Blood family for over seven centuries. For the last three centuries he had performed the duties of butler and was privy to many of the secrets of the noble houses. He and the other servants were loyal to their master. So, when Alphonse noticed that one of the maids, Gertrude, was carefully leaving the back entrance after being told to take the day off he found it rather suspicious. Something in the way she was constantly shifting about as if she were looking for someone, Alphonse found it rather strange.
^Alphonse Goode^
He didn't confront the maid right away. It was well known that when the master dismissed the servants it was for an important private meeting. And Lord Gericho expected his wishes to be adhered to. Any infractions would be cause for immediate termination. Alphonse did not want to get someone in trouble unnecessarily but at the same time he felt obligated to investigate and report the incident. First, he wanted to see where she went.
As a retired spy, the now butler had no trouble remaining unnoticed by the woman who had seen him everyday for the last twenty years. In comparison to the rest of the staff Gertrude was rather new.
She turned into an alleyway that Alphonse knew lead to a dead end. He walked past the entrance to the next alley but didn't try to look in the narrow space that Gertrude had entered. and climbed on top of the brick wall that separated the alleys. Walking along the narrow edge he listened out for the maid as he reached the corner of the building.
"Are you sure that the Protector was there?" A man's voice asked.
"Saw her me self. She wasn't what I was expecting. Kind of short she was." Gertrude babbled.
"What did they talk about?"
"Well that I couldn't say fer sure. I was only able to snatch a word 'ere or there. Those damn Royals have ears like a bleeding bat!" Gertrude complained. "Couldn't get close cause if I could hear them clearly then you know fer sure that they can 'ear me right back."
There was a moment of silence then some rustling. "Here." Said the man. "Let me know if you hear anything more."
Gertrude's voice showed her excitement of receiving what must have been payment. "Why thank you sir! I'll let you know right away if I hear anything else."
Alphonse waited in the shadows until he was sure that everyone was gone. He knew had had to report this immediately.
==============================
Sorry for the skipping around. This was an add in chapter that will help set up for later. I decided to do a double update because there was no significant information in the next chapter. Chapter 59 will be up in a minute.
