CHAPTER 51

Rogue Lands...

To say that Dameon was upset, was a simplification of the matter. He swore that as soon as he found that witch, he was marking her and chaining her to his bed. Eesha just sat calmly sipping her tea waiting for the Rogue King to settle down as he destroyed the parlor.

"ARRRGGH!" Dameon growled in frustration.

"You done?" Eesha asked.

"Where is she?" Dameon asked accusingly.

"You act like I've kidnapped her." Eesha said raising a questioning brow. "If you'll remember, I was fighting next to you against the Spirit Walker that Trish managed to raise on her way out."

Eesha couldn't claim to be to angry because of the results. Dameon, Eesha, and Dameon's Beta fought together and were able to take down the Spirit Walker. Fortunately, the monster didn't actually try to kill them since Trish apparently only gave it the only to fight not kill. The demonstration showed the power of the creature and the rogue governors reported spikes of new rogues seeking refuge.

Dameon sat down next to Eesha on the loveseat, the only non broken item in the room. "I already lost one mate. I don't want to lose another." He said tiredly.

Eesha nodded. "From what I've gathered, Trish has no real friends or family. The only person that she was truly upset about abandoning her was the Wizard she was captured with. His name is Haggai. I believe he's still at Cub Creek."

Cub Creek Territory...

Ruby lay on her bed, clutching her mate's pillow taking as much of his scent in as possible. Lucy cast a spell on it so that it would always carry her Galen's scent no matter how many times it was washed. She would have just faded away but Jessie, the Gamma's mate, insisted on making sure she ate and exercised.

The sunlight bounced off a silver pen that laid on the desk irritating her eyes. A notebook sat on the shelf above it. A thought niggled at her mind. Sitting up she walked to the desk and picked up the small black book. Inside she knew that Galen had a list, given to him by Shadow, of places that he was supposed to be.

She thought back to the night Galen went missing.

Flashback...

The woman screamed in pain and the doctor looked worried. He looked at Ruby and mind linked her asking if she could call her mate to come.

Quickly taking out her phone she dialed Galen's number.

"Hello, my Heartbeat." He answered.

"Hey babe. Do you think you can come to the hospital?"

"I'm already on my way. Are you in room LD3?

"Yes." The woman's scream distracted her. She didn't think to ask how he knew.

"Be there soon, Love."

"Hurry."

End of Flashback...

Ruby stared at the last date, time, and location on the list. Her vision tunneled as she tried to grasp reality. A brief knock sounded before the door opened and Skylar walked in.

The little girl walked to the desk and took Ruby's hand leading her back to the bed. Stunned Ruby silently allowed herself to be led. Sitting down, she waited until Skylar climbed up to take a seat on the foot of her bed.

"Your mother knew?" Ruby asked.

"Yes."

Taking a deep breath, Ruby looked at the little girl. "Did you know?"
