Namjoon ~ bicycle

Every day and every night the same object sat outside the cafe across from my house. The beautiful white and pale blue bicycle perched against the wall with the chains around so it wouldn't be taken. The owner of the bicycle was my best friend and boyfriend's Kim Namjoon. He visited the cafe before and after he would finish his work at the studio and would always make sure I had my coffee in the morning and my tea at night.

There is a story behind the bicycle that stays perched against the wall. It all started on a spring day.

~flashback~
The petals of the cherry blossoms were falling to the ground in a slow motion as my hand managed to catch some of them in my hand as I sat on the park bench whilst the sun beamed down on everyone around me. Parents were playing around with their children on the slides and swings. People were enjoying an ice cream or a hot beverage. I was sipping my hot coffee as I waited for Namjoon show up. He said he had a surprise and that I would love it.

"Y/N!"

"Namjoon, woah who's bicycle is this?"

"This is my bicycle and you get to be my first passenger on it"

"Really?"

"Yeah. I'm gonna take you on a nice bike ride like you've always wanted to do"

"Thank you, Joon. Where are we headed?"

"To Han River and then a trip to the art museum"

"Sounds like a fun day out to me"

I placed my empty cup in the bin as I sat behind Namjoon on his bicycle. I wrapped my arms around his waist as we started our day out. The day felt really special especially with the season we were in.

"I really enjoyed today Namjoon , thank you"

"No problem. I know how hard you worked with your project at your work"

"There is something else"

"What is it?"

"I'm going to be straightforward, will you be my girlfriend?"

"What?"

He looked down and shook his head before walking away.

"Hey! I didn't get to answer you yet?"

"You don't need to. It was stup-"

"Yes!"

"Huh?"

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend"

"Seriously"

"Yes. I know we'll have to keep it a secret due to your idol life but that's fine with me"

~ end of flashback ~

I smiled at the memory as I saw him walk out of the cafe and up to my door. My smile grew bigger as I heard the keypad beeping, indicating he was coming in.

"I'm here!"

"Yay!"

"One tea for my princess"

"It never changes"

"What do you mean?"

"You've done this for 3 years, aren't you tired of it?"

"I can never be tired of having the opportunity to see your beautiful face"

"Stop. What did you get up to today?"

"Practice. Managed to get the song done. And then I went on my daily bike ride around the neighbourhood"

"I need to come on some more bike rides, I miss it"

"I know you do. You've been so busy with designing outfits for us; it's hard to see you even at work"

"Not my fault I had to resisting everything just so it fits your body"

"Are you saying I'm big?"

"Not at all, well big in other places"

"Naughty, did you want to go for a bike ride now?"

"It's 10pm"

"Yeah so. Less cameras and fans will be out so it will be peaceful"

"Ok. It will be good to clear my head"

"Let's go"

We grabbed our coats and put our shoes on before walking towards the bicycle. Namjoon got on the bicycle first before sitting me in front of him as I held onto the handles. We slowly went down the hill and rode past all the bars and street food restaurants before coming to a stop at the river. I placed the bicycle on the grass next to Namjoon as I sat in between his legs.

"I remember the first time we rode that bike together. You nearly fell off the front"

"You took a sharp turn and I couldn't balance myself"

"Do you think if we didn't have that bicycle ride we would be together now?"

"Of course we would. Who could say no to you, Joonie"

"Really?"

"Yeah. If anything I think that bike brought us closer as friends and then lovers"

"So we should really thank the bicycle for bringing us together to form a relationship?"

"If you put it that way, then yes"

We both shared a smile before kissing each other. Who would of thought that one bicycle ride would turn two people in lovers.
