Y/N's p.o.v
'Dear my friend,
Sorry it's been a while since I last sent a message. How is it going? It's been three years since we last saw each other. I still have the necklace you left at my house the day before you left, I wear it all the time so I don't forget about it, but then again how could I ever forget about the person who made me believe in love?
I should've stopped you from leaving that day. I regret not running after you. I should've chased you all the way to the airport to keep you next to me.
Ugh, why did you go? I wish you made a different decision and stayed with me. I would've helped you achieve other things. However, as I am writing this, why didn't you let me come with you so I could live a better life as well. That sound selfish but I don't care.
I haven't coped well and I know it's been a while and I should really be over by now but I am not. I keep our photos in the frame or the photobook just so I don't forget our memories we made together.
I tell myself to not hate you but god I really hate you for leaving me like you did. I know it's easy to come and see you but do you even have the time? I don't even have the money to make that travel because it's used towards my bills and the grocery store.
I'm done writing this text. Hope you can message whenever you can. See you whenever'
I re-read the message over again before hitting the send button and locking my phone. A few tears fell my eyes as I got back to work. It wasn't the job I was set on getting but it helped cover the expenses. I just hoped he was doing alright. I had messaged him when he had his shoulder surgery but it was short and sweet.
"Nice break?"
"Eh"
"You ended up messaging him didn't you?"
"Yeah. It's been three years since we last spoke and I just want him to know that his best friend is still here in Daegu"
"Just don't get your hopes too much alright. I know you care for him and want that message back"
"You're right, Soojin. My phone is locked away in my locker so I can't look at it every five minutes"
"Good. Now as shitty as this job is let's get to serving"
We grabbed out tablets and got back to serving. The best part about this job was the customers. Most of them were elderly people and they brought the café to life during the days. The café was opened from 7am to 10pm so it was mainly busy first thing and the last couple hours of opening. I stood at the counter as I greeted the next customers. They were a regular here so I knew their order by heart.
"Just the usual today, halmani?"
"Yes please, but could I also get a slice of the walnut cake aswell?"
"Ooh is it your treat day?"
"It sure is dear"
"I will get your drink and cake ready for you. Are you going to be sitting in your usual spot today?"
"Of course. It's one of the best spots in the café"
"I'll bring it over to you. Go make yourself comfortable"
She paid for her order and made her way to the beloved table in the corner. One side of the café had a view of the lake outside so I understood why she enjoyed plus the table in the corner never got the sun there so the spot was restricted by the bright light.
"Here's your drink and cake halmani. How's the lake looking today?"
"Crystal clear. It's beautiful every time I come here"
