Seokjin - (un)available

No matter what I did, he never left my mind. I was single, but he was in a happy relationship or so I thought. I could see the small hint of sadness in his eyes whenever he walked through the doors of college. I wanted him but I couldn't have him.

"Hey Y/N, wait up!"

"Hi Seokjin, where's the girlfriend?"

"She called in sick today. Her mom got the flu and now the whole household is down with it?"

"Oh right. I get you all day. Can't wait"

"Is that sarcastic or are you being serious?"

"Learn from the sarcasm, my friend"

He smiled at my reply as he flung his arm around me. I shifted his arm off my shoulder and walked ahead of him. My heart was beating fast as I sped up my walk towards the classroom

"Hey, what's wrong?"

I didn't answer him as I entered the lecture hall. I found my seat and placed my bag in the chair next to me. Seokjin always sat next to his other friends in class whilst I sat a couple of rows behind him. I had to push these feelings aside otherwise I could ruin our friendship and his relationship.

"Miss Y/N, do you have your presentation with you today?"

"I'm sorry Miss. I do have it finished but I was in rush this morning I forgot to pick it up"

"Alright, make sure you bring for tomorrow's lesson"

"Of course"

The class resumed as I started taking notes. I could feel Seokjin's stare. I ignored it and carried on with the lesson. The lesson felt like it dragged but it soon ended. I quickly made my way to the library as I had a free period.

"Y/N? You left so quickly"

"Hmm, sorry just wanted the good spot in the library"

"Are you alright? You've been off since the day started"

"I'm fine. Just tired and wanting to catch up on school work"

"Ok. It just feels like I have done something to upset you"

"I'm all good Seokjin. Just want to study"

"Alright. I'll be in the garden if you need me"

"Hmm"

I watched as he walked away. I don't want to ruin our friendship but that is exactly what I am doing right now. I just have to push the feelings aside whilst we are in the same building. He is really happy with his relationship and this is first proper one, I don't want to ruin that.

Two Weeks Later

We were officially on summer break and I couldn't wait to spend the next couple of months in the park reading a book soaking in the sun and countless summer drinks.

"Y/N!"

"Hello Seokjin"

"Hye-hyun is having a party to kick off the summer, do you want to join?"

"Sure, but I won't stay for long. You know parties aren't my thing"

"That's alright. I will pick you up at 7pm"

"Ok. See you later then"

I was quite nervous for the party. Knowing that Seokjin and his girlfriend would there was sending me into a panic mode. I had to remain calm when in front of them. As I walked in to my house, I went straight upstairs to freshen up and sort my outfit out.
