Taehyung - Slow Dancing

"All families have been invited to attend the annual Christmas ball by the Royal Family happening this tonight at 7pm. All outfits will be prepared by the King and Queen"

The crowd cheered for the first time every single family was going to be invited to the annual Christmas Ball. Usually it's just the different Royal Families that go. I hurriedly headed inside from my balcony and went to my closet to pick put my best dress for the evening. Not long after my servant came in.

"Are you looking for your favourite dress to impress Prince Tae?"

"Maybe, have you seen it?"

"I remember placing it in the bag that it arrived in to make sure it stayed safe and damage free. You just wait there Princess and I will go grab it for you"

"Thank you Soo Hyun"

Whilst she went and got my dress I picked out my shoes to go with the dress. After a while I found my best shoes and placed them on the floor next to where my dress would be hung. Not long after my parents came into the room.

"Daughter have you got your dress sorted for the Christmas ball"

"Yes mother. Soo Hyun is just getting it from the back. It's my special dress I recently had touched up. You remember it?"

"The blue ombre one?"

"Yes with the little jewels on the top"

"You're going to look beautiful daughter and I'm sure Prince Kim will be amazed to see you"

"Thank you Father"

They exited the room to get themselves ready for the ball. I will not lie I am a bit nervous. Prince Taehyung is the most handsome prince to walk the earth. Everyday his hair would styled perfectly. His skin glowed all day and all night. And best of all his heart would beat everyday for only one woman, Princess Y/N. Taehyung and I had been in a relationship for 5 years and my parents were hoping that tonight would be the night we would announce an engagement, but I told Taehyung to do it whenever the time felt right.

We entered the gates of the Royal Palace. The pathway aligned with the most glorious Christmas decorations anyone could ever see. The red, green and gold decorations mixing with the subtle glow of the lights made the palace feel cosy before entering. Inside the palace, a huge Christmas tree welcomed you straight away illuminating the corridor leading to the ballroom. It was beautifully planned and I couldn't wait to dance the night away. 

"Daughter, mother and I are going to mingle"

"Ok Father. Have fun. I'll make sure Taehyung brings me back home"

"Of course. Go have fun"

I watched as they walked away and spoke to other families and started to dance. I wandered around the ballroom taking in even more decorations hung around the room. The food table was laid out to perfection. I went to grab a drink when I felt a tap on my shoulder and the familiar scent of vanilla filled my nose. I turned around saw Taehyung standing there with a smile on his face and his slicked back with a single strand embracing his face. 

"Do you care for a dance, Princess?"

"Why of course, Prince"

He gently grabbed my hand and guided me towards the dancefloor. We started dancing around the floor, smiles on both of our faces. My heart was beating so fast that it might burst and the butterflies were erupting in my stomach.

It was nearing 11pm and there were some people still dancing or just sitting and engaging in conversations. Taehyung began guiding out of the ballroom and down the corridors which led to garden out the back. It was covered in blossom and roses that were intertwined with fairy lights. He draped his jacket over my shoulders and went back to holding my hand. 

"You look absolutely beautiful this evening Y/N"

"You look so handsome, Taehyung. I am really glad to be here tonight your parents have outdone themselves again"

"It amazes me how they change it up every year. No one will ever be bored of the Christmas Ball"

"I'll never get tired of coming to the Christmas Ball as long as you're there I'm good"

"Would you like to see the new flowers we got planted yesterday?"

"You know my love for flowers. Where are they?"

We walked towards the back end of the garden and my eyes instantly came into sight the glowing yellow colour of Daffodils.

"You planted my favourite"

"I wanted something that I could look at and instantly think of you and as I spend most of time in the garden I thought why not plant Daffodils"

"You are so adorable. How did I deserve you?"

We shared a kiss before heading back inside and continuing to dance. The night was filled with happiness and love and I didn't want it to end. Not long after both of our parents stood in front of us with smiles on their faces. 

"What is it Father?"

"We think it would be nice for Y/N and Taehyung to spend some time together. So we proposed to Y/N's parents that you two go to a retreat for the week"

"Where is this retreat?"

"Jeju, it has already been booked and you two will depart tomorrow at 9am, that's if you want to?"

"Yes thank you Father. I really appreciate it. I'm sure Taehyung and I will enjoy the week"

"I'm sure you will. We have got your bags packed already so no need to worry about that and Y/N you are welcome to stay here so you guys can head out straight away"

We hugged both parents giving them smiles back for the unexpected getaway. We all went back to dancing in our group before the night came to an end. I bid goodbyes to my parents before following Taehyung to his room that overlooked the garden. 

"The view gets more gorgeous every-time I come here, Tae"

"Just imagine our own garden in our house in the future with our kids running around in the summer"

"Sounds wonderful. I can imagine us dancing around the flowers whilst the sunsets"

"Let's make a promise that we'll be slow dancing until our last breathes" 

"Promise accepted"
