2.21 Messages at Midnight

A/N: Okay so I was looking on google maps for a good movie theatre in LA and, no offence if you live in LA, but wtf is up with the movie theatres there? Why is one in an Egyptian style, one in Korean only subtitles, one inside the Universal Studios grounds, and some of them are outdoors whilst others are for red carpet events? It took me like a whole 15 minutes to find one that seemed alright. Jesus Christ...

Anyway I think no TW's for this one.

Kind of a filler chapter ngl.

8th August 2021 9:00pm (Sykkuno POV)

I looked over to the clock on the nightstand, it was digital so I didn't have to convert it, it read 9:00pm. The time shocked me, where in the hell did the time go? It feels like not 30 minutes ago that I was eating the dinner they had given me. It was a microwaved lasagna since they mostly ordered food but I had eaten Subway for lunch and I didn't feel like getting more takeaway.

Thankfully I had not wasted the day as I often do. In fact, I had even managed to book a 5:00pm reservation at Yamashiro Hollywood, a fancy sushi restaurant. I'm not surprised that I was able to get a table even on such short notice since the owner was my friend Lily's mother, and that woman adored me.

How a Korean woman came to own a Japanese sushi restaurant I have no idea, it's almost as if it was just for the convenience of a story made by a person who lived in a small town in England and had no idea of how LA worked so he turned to google instead and filled in the blanks with his imagination. Almost.

After I had booked a table for the two of us at Yamashiro I turned to google maps in order to find the closest movie theatre to us that had a good horror movie showing, I hadn't been in LA in a while so it took a while but I found one eventually.

It was a Cinemark located in Baldwin Hills, another wealthy area in LA. They were only showing a few horror movies but one seemed to catch my eye, the name of the movie was Candyman, I didn't know much about it so I watched the trailer for it and it certainly looked scary.

I've never been one for scary films but I was mostly just choosing this one so that Rae would be scared, and then she'd have no choice but to find solace in my arms. Emma confirmed as much, when I asked her about the film she told me that Rae would surely scream. Those were her words not mine.

The only thing left to do was find something to wear, I didn't have any clothes since I left my old house. It had just dawned upon me that I had essentially been homeless for the entirety of the last month, though I did spend the past two weeks in a coma.

Not only did I not have any clothes, I didn't have any of my old streaming equipment, I didn't have any deodorant or other cleaning products, hell, I didn't even own a toothbrush. The toothbrush Rae bought me when I was staying with her was probably on the guest bathroom sink in her house. After all I did leave in quite a rush the last time I was there, when she... Never mind.

I figured I'd just ask Corpse tomorrow, with all his swagger and style I imagine that he'd have at least one suit in his closet. Sure he was much more muscular than me, but besides that we were around the same height, so what if the sleeves are are a bit wide? It'll be fine, I'll just roll them up or something.

I was about to go to sleep but before I did I made a mental checklist of everything I would need for our date tomorrow.

"Book a reservation at a sushi restaurant."

"Check."

"Find a scary movie at a theatre for tomorrow."

"Check."

"Get a suit... I'll sort that out tomorrow."

"Okay... Am I forgetting something?"
