A/N: This one is shaping up to be a longer one, approximately 8000 words or so, but that's just due to the long beginning of the chapter.

Holy shit I know I said I'd stop saying it but it's been 16 days since the last update!? I could've sworn that this chapter was the fastest one I've done yet but apparently it's not fast enough. Seriously though, I don't think I'm ever going to return to my old upload schedule where you could expect something new every 4 days or less, not because I don't want to, but because I'm simply enjoying my outside of WP life, and I feel like the amount I can write in a single sitting is significantly less than it used to.

Thomas' eyes fluttered open after a long 8 hour sleep, unaffected by dreams or disruptions, just 8 hours of warmth, comfort, coziness, all of which solely provided by Rae's unconscious, warm body, the first thing that Thomas laid his eyes upon after waking up was her beautiful face, it was an unpopular opinion among typical men, but Thomas really believed that Rae looked far more beautiful when she had not a single speck of makeup on her pretty face, after all, Thomas could better admire her natural beauty, that slight scar across her eyebrow from where she ran head first into a tree, a story that she had told Thomas herself, her closed eyes that just made her look so defenceless, innocent, vulnerable, it just made Thomas' urge to protect her from the world more prevalent.

Thomas couldn't help but smile at seeing Rae lying there, his arms wrapped around her like a sloth hugging a tree, and she reciprocated the action, hugging Thomas tightly like a bear, oh how Thomas just wanted to stay like this forever, but like all things, this moment had to be ephemeral, for Thomas didn't know what time it was, and an unwanted intruder could walk in at any time and discover quite the scandal, if only Thomas knew the time, if only he hadn't left his phone in his room, then again, there was always... Rae's phone, surely she won't mind.

Needing to know the time, Thomas used his right arm which was previously cuddling Rae tightly to snake around Rae, reaching for the phone on her nightstand as he remained gentle and slow, as to not wake up Rae prematurely, Thomas picked the phone up and steadily retracted his arm backwards, holding it in his hands as he powered the phone on, instantly being greeted by an unpleasant flash of light, only for his eyes to adjust and soon he saw that this unpleasant flash of light was in fact a screensaver of Thomas and Rachel, standing together with wide smiles on both of their faces (the picture at the top), of course they couldn't have a photo of them kissing or anything like that in case Rae's mom decided to check her phone for some reason, but it warmed Thomas' heart to see that.

"6...30am." Thomas muttered aloud as he read the time, earning a quiet hum out of Rae, warning Thomas to keep his voice down unless he wanted to wake Rae up, which of course... he did, after all, it was the perfect time to do so, early enough to cuddle for a bit, and to do some casual, mellow morning pillow talk.

Wanting to wake Rae, but not startle her awake, Thomas opted to just quietly call Rae's name. "Rae." Thomas mumbled, barely loud enough to hear though Rae still had a reaction regardless, she instantly began shifting and making those strange morning groans, only for her to deeply exhale soon after as her eyes, just like Thomas' earlier did, began to flutter open, though unlike Thomas, who was very much awake, Rae was still drowsy, evident in her tone as she spoke her first words of the nice morning.

"What time... is it?" Rae questioned Thomas, almost going straight back to sleep right then and there as she let out a slight yawn in the middle of her sentence, barely clinging onto consciousness as she hugged Thomas tighter, needing his unclothed chest to keep herself warm on this early winter morning.
