3.12 Back to School

A/N: As I mentioned in my latest oneshot, maybe you didn't see it, but I'm going to be getting into that cliffhanger at the end of 3.7 or the winter formal part two chapter, this should shake up the story and give it (the relationship) some risk, I've already said too much. *flashes memory eraser* Anyway I hope you guys enjoy!

The sound of tires rolling on cement and some slightly faulty brakes screeching as the car came to a stop was the first sound heard, Thomas and Rachel had just rode in his newly refurbished pickup truck to school, and by newly refurbished I mean as good as it could be with the money Thomas had access to to fix it up, they were now in the school parking lot after having finished their long drive to school.

Driving Thomas' new truck was a major upgrade from just walking to school like Rae and Thomas would use to, so much has happened since Christmas Day, but at the same time, not much has, all Thomas and Rae did in the days following Christmas was play on their computers, Rae had introduced Thomas to the world of Azeroth and had made a formidable warrior out of him, and when they weren't playing World of Warcraft they were trialling which Champion would be their mains in League of Legends, and it was also clear that Thomas was much better at League of Legends than Rae, and yet Rae still excelled in World of Warcraft.

Other than that there was New Year's Eve, nothing crazy happened on that night, Thomas' dad and Rae's mom got drunk again so Thomas and Rae decided to stick it out in Thomas' room, where they made their own fun, that was a good night, but yeah not much happened really, and now Rae and Thomas were ready to get back into the horrible cesspool that was high school, but of course, little did they know how unprepared they were.

"This is it." Thomas informed Rae after turning his keys counter-clockwise and pulling them out of the ignition, rendering the car off.

"Ready?" Rae questioned Thomas, who turned his head to face her as he did a slight smile and nodded his head, prompting Rae to do a quick scan and look around her, making sure that no one was lurking in her surroundings and that the coast was clear which, after detecting no dangers, she could see it was, prompting her to lunge forward as she met Thomas' lips in what was only a brief smooch really, but regardless it left the two feeling energised and ready to get through the day. "God, you taste like coffee." Rae smiled as she licked her lips.

"So do you, it's not really that strange considering we were just at Starbucks." Thomas returned Rae's sentiment as he too licked his lips, remarking why it wasn't surprising what with their detour to their favourite coffee shop on their way to school, to which Rae just giggled.

"Okay, time to go." Rae stopped giggling and collected her stuff together, about to reach for the door handle and get out when she suddenly felt Thomas' hand occupying the space on Rae's wrist and prevent her from leaving him.

"Let me walk you to class, word's probably gotten out that we're... y'know, our parents are getting married so I don't think anyone will be all that surprised." Thomas offered to walk with Rae, giving a fair reason, Rae thought why not?

"Alright. 3, 2, 1, go!" Rae agreed to let Thomas walk her, and with that she counted down and upon saying go, both Thomas and Rachel exited the car, closing the doors simultaneously as Thomas used his key to lock it in which time Rae went around to the driver side door, offering her hand out to Thomas who, after making sure that the car was locked, took it in his hand as they began to head into the school.
