Just as Thomas formed an O shape to let out his reply, a set of footsteps could be heard barrelling down the hallway, prompting Thomas to cease his actions as he swivelled his head to see what the commotion was, Rae dropping her head and face-palming when she noticed what it was. 'Kill me now. Kill me now. Kill me-' "Rae! Hey!" Fed reached the two of them, pulling the girl into a similarly unwelcome hug and parting, turning to Thomas after, introducing himself to who he didn't know was his greatest competitor for Rae's love.

"Hey! You're Rae's brother right? Or, well, stepbrother or your folks are getting married or whatever! Yeah, well Rae and I are going to prom together! Don't worry! I promise to bring her back at a reasonable hour so don't get mad at me!" Fed spoke with far too much enthusiasm as he always did, not even giving Thomas a single chance to speak before saying something else with that cheery tone, not that Thomas wanted to talk to him, so instead, feeling just as he was earlier, he simply left the two of them alone, unsure of what to do, what to think or what to say, much to Rae's disappointment. "Weird guy huh?" Fed continued, noting how Thomas had just left without even saying anything, which is something Rae didn't take well, getting defensive of the guy she liked.

"What are you even doing here? Seriously? What do you want?" Rae couldn't help but exert her anger to Fed, who may've just ruined Rae's only chance of apologising and making up with Thomas, though she immediately felt bad so she apologised for her outburst. "Sorry, I'm just stressed, I didn't mean to yell at you." Rae apologised, still mad at Fed and still wanting nothing to do with him but she considered herself a nice person, so she had to say sorry.

"Nah, it's all good! Don't even trip! Hey, what time should I pick you up in my ride later?" Fed was quick to brush off Rae's words, his cheery and over-positive demeanour and tone already starting to get on Rae's nerves.

"Uhm... why don't we just meet at school instead? It'd probably save you some gas." Rae suggested, not wanting to let a complete stranger know where she lived, or maybe it was because if he knew, then he'd become more like Thomas, and Rae hated the idea of replacing him.

"Alright, cool. Well, I have to go to class so I'll probably see you tonight." Fed said farewell, that whole interaction feeling utterly pointless to Rae, who decided to run after Thomas, heading in the direction that he had went in, though she was unable to locate him.

In fact, Thomas had been able to avoid Rae for the entire day, which was made slightly easier for his conscience that Rae hadn't texted or called him at all, because then he would've felt far more guilty than he did, but even with all of his efforts in avoiding her, there was still one thing Thomas was sure of, he still wanted to be with Rae, even if it meant having to fight another man for her attention, he wanted it all, he liked her, and he wanted to be with her, and he had formulated a plan to do just that, or at least he hoped it would.

Walking with Jeremy out of the school gates, Thomas had devised all of the equipment he would need for this plan of his, and he knew exactly who he could ask. "Hey Jeremy, could I borrow a boom box since your dad owns an electronic store? I just need it for the night." Thomas asked his best friend who conveniently had access to some of what he needed.

"That's random... hm... if you give me 15 bucks you could." Jeremy bartered with Thomas, confused at first though he soon saw an opportunity to make some money.

"I'll give you 20 bucks if we can get it right now." Thomas expedited the deal, throwing in some more money to Jeremy who only had cash on his mind.
