1.12 CB Femly Dinner

A/N: Penultimate chapter for the main story.

14th Oct 2021 4:30pm (Ray POV)

I sent out a GPS signal in the CB group chat to the location of the restaurant we were going to, they kept pestering me as to where we going but I wanted it to be a surprise for them, I knew it would be around a forty-five minute drive especially when considering the notorious LA traffic so I plugged in my headphones, blasting Empty Bed by Saint Punk, and relaxed my thoughts.

5:15pm (Sykkuno POV)

My GPS was telling me that we were four minutes away from the restaurant, I had never been in this part of LA, it was the fancy part, there were whole rows of expensive, designer stores as well as extravagant restaurants, one of which we'd be going to, I'd never been to this part of the city because I wasn't the most affluent person in the world, I didn't like to flex my wealth and everyone knew that, that was, until I saw her. We were driving past a designer store when I looked over to Rae staring out of the car window at a dress in the store, she looked like she really wanted it, it reminded me of when I used to want some candy and my mother would deny me.

Sykkuno: "You like that dress huh?" I asked.

Rae: "Huh? Oh... Yeah, it's nice..." She said, trying to hide her desire for the dress.

Sykkuno: "C'mon! Just say you want it!" I exclaimed.

Rae: "Well I suppose I wouldn't mind having it..."

Sykkuno: "I can buy it for you if you'd like!"

Rae: "What! You can't be serious!? It's probably like thousands of dollars!"

Sykkuno: "Yeah... I guess it's a little expensive..." I said, trying to hold back a grin.

Rae: "Don't worry! I don't need it!" She said disappointedly.

If one thing's for sure, I was getting her that dress, believe me, I'll do whatever it takes, not right now though, we had a dinner party to get to. Our car arrived at the restaurant second, Ray, Blau and Tea were already there while Leslie, Brit and Tony were still behind due to a mishap with her Tesla, I looked up at the restaurant sign and it read NOBU, I had heard of it before from Toast, he said it was a sushi restaurant, I looked at Rae with a look of disgust on my face, it didn't go unnoticed by Ray.

Ray: "What's up Sykkuno? I thought you guys all loved Sushi?"

Rae: "Oh no it's not that... We actually had Sushi for lunch before we went to Universal studios..." She said anxiously.

Ray: "Oh... We can go somewhere else if you guys want..." He said, disappointedly.

Sykkuno: "Nonono, we can stay here... Besides Sushi's not the only thing on the menu here right?"

Rae: "Right! We can just eat something else!"

Ray: "That's great! I was really eager to eat here! I've never tried it before and I've heard it's great here!" He said excitedly.

Leslie pulled up a couple minutes later and Tony and Brit got out, fearing for their lives.

Blau: "What's wrong guys?" He said concerned.

Tony: "Jesus! Y'know that meme about April's driving in GTA?"

Ray: "Yeah?"

Tony: "Well it's not a meme boys!"

Leslie: "WHAT!?!?!?"

Rae: "Why do you think she has a self-driving car?" She said laughing.

We all shared a laugh at Leslie's bad driving before we headed into the restaurant and Ray spoke to the waiter at the front to get seated.
