A/N: Been a long while since my last update, if you've seen my latest chapter on my oneshots book then you would likely know why, I needed a small break after a 20000+ word chapter and had some really bad shit going on personally with my educational future, still going through all of that so I need to escape to my comfort place, which just so happens to be here with you guys.
Realised I made a mistake and got the date wrong on the last chapter, the 19th was the Sunday and the 20th was the Monday, it has since been corrected and we move on from that miscalculation I guess.
20th December 2009 9:00am
Eleven hours of sleep, now that was a rare occurrence for Thomas, but it happened nonetheless, and the first thing Thomas saw upon waking up were unfamiliar surroundings, and he could barely remember the events of last night, except for two key things, the first one was that he and the rest of his 'band' had reached Rae's family cabin, and the second one was that Thomas gave Rae a kiss, sure, it was short and rather insignificant, but Thomas would never forget a kiss from Rae, evident as the memory brought a smile to Thomas' tired expression.
His stomach grumbling, Thomas knew that he was in desperate need of some sustenance, with that in mind, he groggily got out of bed, not bothering to get dressed or to brush his teeth since that could always be done later, he currently wore some pyjama bottoms, some underwear, and nothing else, yet he still reached the closed door to his room and managed to open it, stepping out into an unknown hallway as he closed the door behind him, now with another menial task ahead of him, he had to navigate his way to the kitchen, that's if there was one, Thomas was in an unknown place, maybe they didn't have a kitchen, maybe this would be more like camping than he had originally thought it'd be.
Making his way through the cabin, Thomas was left both confused and curious at some of the decorations he noticed, the first thing he saw that left him curious was a sword rack, with all kinds of interesting blades mounted upon it, were they real? If so, had they been dulled? Or were they still incredibly sharp? These were all questions that were floating around Thomas' mind, now that was what made him curious, but as for what made him confused..
Just as he felt as he was going in the right direction, Thomas came upon a large framed photo, a portrait, to be specific, no, a family portrait, but the portrait was of more than just Rae and her mom, the photo also contained a man, a big, burly man, someone who, upon thinking about it, could only be Rae's father, and Thomas immediately thought that they should probably take the portrait down, if he left Rae and her mom just like Thomas' own mother did, then he doesn't deserve to be up there, who could leave such a perfect family behind? A perfect daughter behind, just thinking of how he too was left behind made his skin crawl, and maybe it was unfair of him to dislike someone he didn't know whatsoever as a result.
That one man was also joined by three more younger men, who all must have been at least over the age of 18 from the looks of them, but Thomas had absolutely no idea as to who those people were, though it would soon become apparent to him, in fact, eventually, everything about Rae's family would be known.
Moving on from that, Thomas could hear voices coming from a distant room somewhere ahead of him and began walking towards the voices, soon finding the kitchen as he saw two women having a conversation, and the younger among the two, that obviously being Rae, had her back turned to Thomas, unaware of his approach as he planned to sneak up on Rae, though he was soon pointed out by her mother, disabling his fun little idea he had planned from actually happening.
