Taking part 7 months after the "Forever" one shot. 🥰
"Alright, one more time. I just wanna make sure its perfect and that they hit everything on the list." Olivia said as a mix of nerves and excitement settled in her stomach.
"Liv. We've gone through it like fifty times. Everything is exactly how you wanted it. You know I got you. I kind of owe you for going through three weddings with me as you so kindly reminded me every other day. " Simone reassured her.
Liv shot her a small glare. Yes, she was indeed kindly reminded of that detail maybe one (Okay, one hundred) time throughout the wedding planning. Though far from a bridezilla, Olivia was still set on making sure things felt natural and that meant making sure things weren't overlooked. She wanted the wedding to be true to her and Spencer. Letting her mom take the reins and having Simone step in when needed was wonderful but it didn't help her feel any less nervous.
The anxiety she felt was not from indecision on whether this was the right call. She just had a feeling that she couldn't shake. As though the rug was going to be ripped from under her. For so long, she felt invisible and for the past six years it's felt like she was the only person in the world when she looked into her soon-to-be husband's eyes. The safety she felt was always there but she struggled with anxious thoughts. It was like some little voice was trying to convince her that she wasn't worthy.
But as fast as though thoughts came, they went. A small smile couldn't help but escape her as she thought about how if she were able to see Spencer right now, he'd be able to sense her nerves and fears. How he would just know exactly what to say to calm her. She couldn't wait to marry him.
"Girl if you don't stop fantasizing about your honeymoon and help me get this thing on. We have to get going." Simone joked.
Taking a deep breath and looking in the mirror she looked back to her sister-in-law. "I know, I know. I just don't want anything to go wrong. This is the only wedding day I'll get. You know, not all of us have three. With the same person. And unpaid and underappreciated wedding planner/assistant extraordinaire." She couldn't help but shoot back with a smirk and eyebrow raise. Wedding day or not, sister petty came with a natural ease.
"Ha. Ha. Touché. But just so you know- as the one who told you way back in Bringston to go after what you want; I take 98% credit for this happening today."
"Why 98?"
"Because you making out with him at Bringston takes the other 2. Had that boy whipped since.""I do what I can" Liv replied with a wink.
"Well, let's see what you can do with this veil so that we can get this thing started and get you officially married." They both began to laugh and fawn over the bride's hair.
Their laughter was interrupted with the sound of the door opening and Kia rushing in. Her blush pink bridesmaid dress matching Simone's.
"Alright yall, they just gave me the five-minute countdown. Mr. Baker is coming any second and the boys said they're ready. Layla, Patience, Jenn, and Sienna are putting their shoes on now too so we should be good. You ready, almost Mrs. Baker-James?"
Liv smiled at the names and thought of her closest friends being by her side as she married her soulmate. Layla and her had their ups and downs but after a huge and extremely awkward conversation the summer before college, they were able to really heal.
Her and Patience grew incredibly close after her relationship with Spencer became official. They relied a lot on each other for advice and fun especially when they had to deal with the antics of the Coop and Spencer show at all cook outs and gatherings.
