No one could wipe the smile off of her face even if they tried. After a crazy day at her new podcast location, she got a call and found out that her article on black maternal health was being published front page of the LA Tribune. The news outlet offered her a position as a freelance writer after an impressive summer internship three years prior, and she had been there in a more permanent capacity since. Finding out that an important piece of hers was going to be published was the good news she needed to carry her through the last three days of temporary long distance.

Due to Spencer's cross country training camp, the couple hadn't seen each other in almost four weeks. The training camp took place in Orlando and was designed to help prepare potential draft prospects as they were coached by retired NFL players and coaches. It was a great opportunity and though Olivia missed him terribly, she knew it was a big deal and he needed her support. That didn't help with the struggle of missing him. With their schedules being so busy and a three-hour time difference, it had led to ten minute FaceTimes when possible but mostly text updates for the past four weeks. That was all going to change when he got back in a few days.

She walked into their shared apartment and sighed. It felt all too empty without him and she couldn't help but feel a little said as set her keys on the entry way table. Kicking her shoes off, she pulled out her phone to call the first and most important person she wanted to share this news with.

The anticipation built up with every ring but slowly ceasing when FaceTime Unavailable came up. Her heart sank a little but seeing it was 8:30 his time, she decided she couldn't be too upset and chalked it up to him probably just being busy with conditioning or sleeping after a long day. She went to her messages and shot him a quick text.

Babe❤️: Hey babe! Just wanted to tell you I love you and check in...I also wanted to let you know some great news. Call me when you can! Miss you❤️

Needing a laugh and listening ear she called the next best person.

"Girl. If I knew that marrying your brother meant dealing with him and his loud ass gaming system blaring at all hours of the day- I may have had a different response to your efforts in Vegas."

Liv couldn't help but grin at her sister-in-law's words. "Hi, Simone."

"Hey Liv. What's up? You doing okay with Spence being gone? Or do we need another girls night? Cause I could use one before I kill your brother." Simone replied, yelling the last part to the side of the camera towards Jordan.

"Babe, it's all about the team. We have a tournament soon; the guys need me." Olivia's twin argued.

"Well the guys can kiss my ass. I'll be back, I'm going into the room to talk to the twin I actually like at the moment."

"The younger twin you mean." He shot back snarkily.

"By 4 minutes, dumb-dumb." Olivia interjected as her laughter at the shenanigans stopped.

"Still counts." He said plainly.

"Goodbye, Jordan." Simone said with an eye roll before retreating to the bedroom.

"Anyways, what's going on? I know I got a good-looking face but you must be calling for something." Simone questioned carefully.

"I just wanted to see your face. Like you said." She said unconvincingly.

"Liv."

"Ugh fine. I wrote this article I'm really proud of and my boss at the Tribune said she wants to publish it. Like front page publish." She beamed.

"ARE YOU JOKING" Simone yelled "That is incredible! Yes, bitch! I'm so here for this Black Girl Magic! Congratulations, I'm so proud of you"

"Thank you! I'm really excited. I wanted to talk to Spencer about it but he hasn't really been answering my calls today. Like this morning he was super weird and basically rushed me off the phone. I don't know, Simone. What if this time made him think about whether he wants to still be with me? I mean, it has been three years. What if being around all those players made him see that the high school sweetheart thing isn't for him or that he's tired of me? Of us?" she got out, her words becoming lower and sadder as she finished.
