There was a lot that came with being drafted into the NFL. The time commitment, publicity, fans and overall change it brings to your life is sometimes a huge adjustment. This is especially true when you have a life that you've built and are trying to merge with your new NFL reality. The amount of time that you spend with family, friends, and loved ones sometimes takes a hit and it isn't easy. Spencer knew this well, having found this even more while he tried to get a hold of his new life while making his way through his rookie year. He was grateful for the dream come true of playing professional football but that didn't take away from the guilt he struggled with regarding the sacrifices it required. One of those sacrifices being one-on-one time with Olivia during busier times of the season. They had a good handle on balance and trying to prioritize each other but it wasn't always simple.

Along with his mom being tied for the number one spot, Olivia was his biggest supporter. The ups and downs of D1 football, the stress of the draft and a trade that came shortly after, the chaos of it all was calmed by the support he felt when he came home. The support he felt when he was with her. It all made sense when they were alone, day-dreaming and talking about any and everything.

That's why he made a conscious effort to include her in events or create date nights out of the billions of galas and dinners the Rams organization hosted during the season. It wasn't ideal but it was a way for them to spend time together and enjoy each other during extremely busy times. This is the reasoning that Olivia had to keep in mind and repeat in her brain when she was at these events. Having grown up in the football world and now being years into her relationship with Spencer, she knew too well how ridiculous and uptight these things were. She made an effort to enjoy them as they got her time with the man she loved but it didn't stop her from feeling a mix of emotions when she saw and heard the whispers of other girlfriends and wives or the groupies who somehow made their way in to the events.

She knew that being the high school sweetheart/long-time girlfriend was a tale as old as time in these settings. She heard the comments and even at times dealt with her own anxieties around the way the league messed with things. Despite that, she had faith in Spencer. She had faith in them. She also knew how throw a mean right hook when needed. Which is why having been on her best behavior for such a long time, she was none too thrilled about going to an event that certain...people would be at.

Jenna Williams was the girlfriend of the team captain, Travis. Everyone knew that they had a weird, LA style relationship and it wasn't surprising to anyone when she would flirt with other players at team events. So far, she had tried with and been shut down numerous times by Spencer. Having so far been smart enough to not try it in front of Olivia, she would just offer side eye glances and little sighs under her breath when they were close. Knowing Jenna would be in attendance at tonight's dinner, Olivia had to promise Spencer that she would be on her best behavior.

"Liv, I'm serious. Randy is going to be there and as the owner, he will be on my ass if there's any sort of drama."

"I'm not the one who you should be worried about. I know to play the game. Plus, give me a little more credit. You know that I would never intentionally make you look bad." She offered her best puppy dog eyes in an attempt to show her innocence.

"You could never make me look bad" walking towards her and wrapping her arms around her waist, Spencer placed a kiss on her forehead. "I'm for real though, babe. No brawling with anyone or letting anyone get under your skin. Tonight is about us having a good time. We get in and we get out. If things start to feel like it's a little too much, let me know and we can bounce. You're most important here."
